I'd explain it that he only had a fwd car at that moment.
Anyone following Abbring would not be surprised that he is performing well. He is a star of the future for sure. However I wouldn't read too much into this event or make too many comparisons. Paddon is equally inexperienced on snow and has the added responsibility of bringing the car home in the points. At 6th, and with opportunity to improve, it is a job he is handling very well. Expect a different attitude when back on a surface he enjoys, in his own car and with the freedom to express himself.

@voiceofrally talking doubles from the 60's, I still wonder if @krismeeke could be Jochen Rindt's son!

Ah Jochen Rindt - One of my first Motor Sport Heroes, just one superb driver!
Maybe JochenŽs grandson, because Jochen died in 1970, about 44 years ago...
And Kris, for sure, is not that old!
He is like the greek driver iaveris he is not intrested about the final result but only about flat out drive.
Not really a Sweden question, but can someone explain the point of Flexi-service to me? I spent service watching the WRC2 crews because they have no time to pick and choose and they're still battling the cold like I thought Sweden was about (shout out to M-Sport too).
For Ogier and Meeke's cars to be sat there for over an hour before anyone touched them is ridiculous.
I think only WRC Teams and Manufactures don't have to start working on the car right away.
Yes, it is just them, bit I'm wondering why they get special dispensation, when they're already benefitting from nicer conditions than the guys at the other end of the service park. Wondering if it's a money thing to allow them to run extra cars easier.
I'm not an expert by any means, but for me it's just one of the perks to register as a team.
Tomorrow only SS14 will be live? What about SS18??
WRC+ says SS14 and then SS21 (Sunday) will be live only.
Weather for tomorrow:
Temperature will be between -2 and +1 degrees, very little wind, mostly cloudy and nearly no precipitation. Just some local snowfall can take place.
So, the only difference is the temperature overnight. When there was proper minus temperature last night, up to -10 in some places and everything forze, then today night it will be up to -1.. -2 only, this is not enough to freeze the surface properly. So, I am not sure if the first car has the same amount of advantage like it had today, but it should be very equal after the lunch.
The weather for Sunday will be pretty similar, however, there might be some light snow overnight.
I will leave from computer tomorrow morning (maybe I can check the results from time to time) to prepare for Tartu skiing Marathon, it is 63km in classical style (cross country). You can follow my split times here: https://tartumaraton.ee/en/events/su...raton/results/ It will start on Sunday morning at 9 AM (Estonian time).
My starting number is a bit behind (2542). I hope the track is properly swept clean by my pass:-) Weather conditions are expected to be near-perfect, so 5 hours +/-10 minutes is my target.
Post all the interesting happenings here, then I can relive the rally later ;-)
Good luck bluuford
