I had to admit this is true. But I think also some people don't realize the trajectory a car might take if something (whatever it is) goes wrong.Quote:

This has nothing to do with a compression effect. They're just in the middle of the braking zone behind the hairpin, if you brake too late, you end up where they are standing... I still believe most of the photographers keep safety in mind, but you always have some who don't. Also this hairpin is a bit of a difficult situation if you want to take nice pictures...
More close to the action is directly proportional to the danger you're exposing on
Irrelevant example!Quote:

I am not expert in photography, but I am aware that current level of technology development makes possible remotely control photo camera and make shots whatever you want same as you take camera in your hand.
But in th first case it will be dangerous for your camera only
South-Western European countries (Portugal, Spain, may be southern France) are known with these unwise spectators standing on dangerous places. I don't really know if group B was really "so" dangerous because of the cars
Evgeny Novikov got 10 minutes(!!!) penalty from RallyRACC organizers. Why? Oooo... that`s funny! His tyres was in too bad condition. Stupid? Yes. But now he is only 11th. And his chances to get points are very small. Now in Top-10 there are only Michelin-drivers. Is it coincidence?
By the way! At Sardinia nobody has penalty for 'tyres in too bad condition'...
Nothing can surprise me these days
Why Mads Ostberg sprayed water on the left front wheel of Mikko Hirvonen before of SS7 of Rally of Catalunya? (Video Best of Rally Live - Second 16)
That's because he uses DMACK tyres but not Michelin.Quote:

And why 10minutes? why not 1 or 2 minute, maybe they must disqualify him because he have DMACK and he is in Top 10.
It's not entirely correct to say he has nothing to lose. In terms of the championship or the round win ... yes, there's no pressure, but this event is about showcasing his ability to further his career and another 'off' will not help that.Quote:

That's why Ostberg is out of top 3 now.Quote:

Of course even this bottle of water can't do any harm with the temperature (or grip)Quote:

There are hundreds of bends more dangerous than that hairpin in every rally. If you know it, it's an obvious compression effect, as Fly_Half said. There are dozens of meters from the angle of the hairpin to the place where the photographers are standing (if you don't believe me you can see this last year's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_IsDoSgve4).Quote:

There are better or worse rallies than this, but please don't throw biased information on a rally which at least work in security at the same level as the others of the Championship.
I agree the distance is quite a lot, but this indeed contradicts with all spectator safety bulletins should be spreaded at every Rally. At least at that place there should be barrier (even this is not safe enough, but that is another matter), which is not the case I believe. You probably have watched videos from 85/86's and see what I mean, now that was really crazy.Quote:

really big difference from the angle the photo taken
The Finn will finish on 151 points by taking second with Ostberg netting 147 points for coming home fifth. If Norwegian Ostberg scored three bonus points for winning the Power Stage and Latvala was outside the top three positions on the test, it wouldn’t be enough to overhaul Latvala.
World Rally Championship - News - Latvala: fight for third far from settled
Thanks much for the clarification!! Its really a shame but it must have been an amazing journey and an exciting time for John and Mike. Id just like to wish them the best for the future with the hope that maybe next year they can return to the WRC at some point. Big up!!John and Mike!!!! Maximum respec!!!Quote:

Looks like novikov is a very unhappy man... I don't know if it is sarcasm or the way he feels... Also is he pissed off against the organisation or against Dmack???
