Well, in Italy Ucci had to battle with its FIAT againt a Clio S1600 at first (I think it was Brocoli).Quote:

Yes...lets wait and see. Compared to N4 cars its looking good at first outing, especially in these conditions.Quote:

Haco i d like to measure meganeN4 outside France with an also good driver in a evo10/9 or sti n16.Today in France the drivers with evo9 and subis are no near in level as Guigu.Factory car against privateers with not good drivers are not going to show us the right results.
It-s just the first rally . Remember you comments in a month or two , and then see it the comments are still okay . People at Renault Sport are geniuses , they didn't make a single rally car in recent history which failed in any view , performance or sales . I agree , it's probably very boring , but it for sure won't be slow ;)
the point is if a megane can be competitive against a traditional n4 evo-sti.All local championships have rallies with some snow, some mud, some rain, some dirty/slippery roads. If you were a driver will you choose a megane against a 4wd if your aims are at championship title in your class?
Of course renault-sport is a legend in rallies and all their cars were excellent against competition. But 2wd against 4wd in difficult conditions needs a miracle nowadays.
lets wait to see megan against a proper evo-sti with a good driver in some months and we will see.I just was waiting more against ds3/clios at Touquet
The megane was made more like a promotion of the road car rather than serious competition.....the fact they gave it to their advertisment driver shows that. None will risk buying this car outside of France, it is obvious and that hard to understand even if you started watch rallying 10 minutes ago.
What did you expect?! It's a 2WD car, it's handicapped from the beginning, would you expect Renault to come in with a 2WD car and beat all Evos and Impreza which haven't had competition in their class all those years?! I hope this is just a way for Renault to gather data for a possible WRC programme.
One is sold in Germany, that is outside of France ;)
Give the car a chance. If it's cheaper and faster than the Clio R3, some will be happy with it. If one day an R4 will come (4x4 or not), it will be even faster.
I read in an interview with Quensel that Citroen plans building an R4 as well, what would he have meant with that?
Whatever car is I like rally.. :D
Yes , the fact that we already have them in 3 different countries even before it started a rally proves your point ;)Quote:

Besides France ( Guigou and Consani ) there are Germany ( Carsten Mohe - presented his car today ) , Italy ( Stefano Albertini , Andrea Mezzogori ) and Switzerland ( Nicolas Maus )
so basically all of the renault promotional drivers in their respective countries....hmmmmm
Well , they are the first of course ;) I think the Megane will be a very good selling car . I mean , look at the 207 R3T . It's a catastrophic car , so slow and boring , and yet Italy and France are full of them .
A lot of Méganes are going to be in IRC 2WD cup which is made simply for whatever with just two wheels driven.
Anyway I think that it will be quite reasonably cheaper to run than 4WD N4 and in south European asphalts (Touquet is not what I mean) it should be competitive enough in usual condition (by the way the Evo in front of Guigou is Gr.A, but of course Guigou should be better driver).
At rallye Pays du Gier(first leg yesterday with two night stages)swiss champion Grégoire Hotz dominated the S2000s in his Clio S1600
Ivan Ballinari was 2nd, Laurent Reuche(first time driving a 4WD)third...
Interesting times by the F2000s with Jerôme Chavanne 4th, Sébastien Bugnet 6th and Emeric Robert 11th... :)
Once again the Citroën DS3s are in front of the Renault Clios in GrR(Antonio Galli 9th, Michaël Burri 10th)
As expected, Ballinari and Reuche are first and second after SS5 Rallye Pays du Gier today ;)
Also Althaus is climbing back, but Hotz still gets a 33" advantage before being kicked from podium :p :

thanx. recce is just before the stages and done only once? any other interesting and uncommon rules?
Official entrylist in seeded order for the Rallye terre des Causses is at last available :)
Two Skoda Octavia WRCs from the belgian BMA Racing entered with Bernard Munster and Alain Devezat at the wheels
With the absence of Jean-Marie Cuoq the battle for victory will be opened and unsure :D
Although his whale will be at the event, I don't think Paul Chieusse is from the same level as Cuoq... ;)
Stefaan Prinzie will also do some rallies in Terre Championship with a BMA Impreza 555
Wim Soenens drives a Citroën Saxo T4(4WD)there too, one more belgian :)
Nicolas Vouilloz would be expected on a 207 S2000 on next week's rallye Grasse Fleurs et Parfums...I thought he should be helped by Skoda France for a 2011 campaign with Fabia S2000
Let's see what he will do for Rallye Islas Canarias/IRC... :mark:
Canarias? I think that Vouilloz will drive only Corse in IRC.
Ah OK Mirek ;)
Pre-entrylist rallye Lyon-Charbonnières available since several weeks :D
http://www.asarhone.com/v21/Charbonn...11/Engages.asp
Online results from Rallye terre des Causses will be available? Any more news from the rally? I can see few forfaits on entry list, most important I think Munster in Octavia WRC.
Abbring has the intention to drive the entire Gravel championship with the DS3.
First three rallies are sure for now. The car is run by Automecasolutions.

7th fastest time for Kevin Abbring on SS1 rallye terre des Causses :D
But stage was short, next one is another story(22km)
Germain Bonnefis, leader of the french Volant 207 ahead of Abbring finally :p :
Incredible the jump forward the 207 R3T has done since last year
They are fully able to fight for top 2WD in R3 category now :)
In the DS3 clan, Abbring lost quite a lot on SS2 and gets now 17" to catch on rallycrossman Davy Jeanney :mark:
But first positions R3 are Bonnefis, Ancian, Blanc, Marché(all from Volant 207), Salin(first Clio R3 driver),...
Edit: overall leader is Laurent Carbonaro(Focus) ahead of Gascou(207 S2000)and Paul Chieusse(ex-Cuoq's whale, but he has to sweep the road for the others)...leading GrN is Hervé Guignard(4th)ahead of Finn Saku Verimaa(6th)...
The times of Abbring are wrong apparently, he called another Dutch driver that he's way faster than is visible on the websites above.
You mean his time in SS2 is wrong ????
They corrected SS2 terre des Causses on FFSA website !!!! Abbring 10th fastest, ahead the Volant 207 drivers :D
