The world champion is in ford meaning they generate quite a lot of interest just like VW last year. Not so strange really.
Since you weren't here last year you missed entirely the heavy bashing Msport took from everyone with more or less only Eddie and Estwrc defending them so don't come with ridiculous claims like "everyone support them" when you clearly have no idea.
I'm not a ford fan. I am happy for them because they have been having some tough years but managed to remain in the sport without manufacturer backing which is an incredible feat... I'm happy that their luck finally is turning!
