Looks like first decent time of the day from Neuville.
-
Meeke now start Sunday driving from Friday. Trying to be calm for his ugly-chief
-
Lappi again with decent time, now only 1.1 sec. behind Jari
-
Thoose 3 finns are amazing!

If Neuville wants to win the title he needs to take full advantage when Ogier drops points, like Ogier did early in the season when Neuville made mistakes.
Ford's of Østberg, Suninen and even Evans are ahead of him (and Sordo) so far and so reducing Hyundai points in the Manu battle.

Suninen and Østberg do not reduce Hyundai's manu points.

Last stage was better from Neuville i expect him to go for a smal push in the coming stage's still no flat out. But if he can do top 3, top 5 stage time's he could wel be up to 6th maybe even 5th at the end of the day.
I like the way he handles things here in Finland, hope it will show on sunday this is the way to go!
Lappi and Suninen both are potential world champions i think.
Shame Sunninen wont do WRC Germany, such young guys should get the expierence for each event as soon as possible.

He should at least do the event in an R5 no?
-
Suninen was slower than Tidemand in both Sweden (1 min behind) and Portugal and much slower than Mikkelsen in both Portugal and Corsica. Just saying.
I wish him well ,but please no over-hype too early.
-
lets see if we will have bigger differences at this long stage.

i think Loeb was not always going fast. but selecting the time to attack. in Finland fighting against the finns is too risky. even loeb knew that

Michelin Motorsport
The last 3 Finnish lead Rally Finland was in 2007 after SS2 (Latvala/Hirvonen/Grönholm) #wrc #RallyFinland

Manu points reward just finishing over a high place by speed. :( Maybe why Neuville is scared to go for the win here...

this stage hasn't got big jumps, lets see if make any difference.
Fri 17:11 - Stage info: SS10
Lankamaa, 21.68km. Another Rally Finland classic returning after a few years away, Lankamaa is not a jump-fest, but makes up for it in speed. A couple of new hay bale chicanes have been added this year to try and keep the average speeds down. The stage is notable too for a sandy-surface heath section at 8km which is particularly fast and demands accurate lines.

Loeb had 3 wins in Finland and numerous podiums.

SS10 - Neuville down on all the splits (except Sordo) ..

I think sometimes drivers use manufacturer points as an excuse. I really doubt that's the reason Thierry isn't on the pace. And besides, the more points he has the more benefit for both championships. He has a golden opportunity this weekend.
-
This is going to end with 3 Toyotas on the podium.

Skoda vs Ford too. His pace against Tidemand was better in last season when they both had Skoda. Just saying.
-
stupid decsion by neuville to have that pace on a long day like this... Ogier can even extend his lead on this rally...
Maybe Neuville bets on the misfortunes of others to gain places.

Agree, but R5 class isn't the same as wrc class, Lappi wasn't fastest at every rally in R5 i believe, but in a WRC car he is impressive so far. Somehow i think Sunninen is the same case.
R5 would be good solution, but WRC even better of course, but thats a lot more expensive off course.

Yeah it's not a clear picture, also for a Fin his Corsica pace was quite good. Was just meant as a quick reality check when he is already being announced next WDC.
-
Lappi on pace to take the lead!

I think it's a big thing for Hyundai. They would prefer the Manu title over the Driver's if they can only win one.
-
Neuville emotional at stage end acc to WRC Live.
And Sordo: 'Not enjoying it. My head is not in the race'.
-
Meeke also a little emotional...
New leader: Lappi.
-
Meeke lost a lot of time on the last split... something happened.
-
-
He's just taken the lead, but I can't see Lappi finishing at this pace, honestly. Would be a really impressive victory, though.

I think his pace is ok, just getting slight advantage from road position compared with Latvala.

Triple-Finn podiums in WRC since 1979
Triple-Finn podiums in WRC since 1979:
-
1-2-3-4 overall for the fins....
-
All top four places for Finns now. Who would have expected that?
-
Ostberg with a loose wheel problem and Suninen also thinks something's wrong... :(
-
and now we have TOP4 overall with Finns! :)
