Last day will be very interesting from altitude differences point of view, especially the first 54kms long with ups and downs, also second with great downhill from 5th km to the 22nd on the end

Ford and BMW are making a profit - PSA aren't (see link to their 2012 financial results). Anyway, motorsport is a choice and if BMW and/or Ford chose to leave the WRC, it's because there are no benefits from it in the economical enviroment they are in. I would say that it is not fair that he got whole 40 seconds back. More fair would be the same time with stage winner or something. It does not sound good that you win a stage while co-driver opens the gate twice etc.

Excuse me, but he didn't get the time back out of nowhere. The marshals looked at his time prior to the stop and how much he did loose while opening the gate. If it was 40 seconds, it's just fair he got that amount back, don't you think?Quote:

The decision was with Clerk of the course, their call and they awarded the lost time. I'm happy enough with that, though agree it should not be the full time, particularly seeing there was a certain amount of messing about with opening the gate.
I don't have a problem with removing all the time lost at the spot BUT I do have problem with the fact that this very same situation happening to somebody from down the order would be sure solved different way by the stewards (very likely no notional time would be given).Quote:

I think we see these spectator things every year in Mexico, and one day it will affect a result so I thing they should do something about it - and if they can't they shouldn't rally there.
I just saw the situation with the gate, finally I also think to give him back that seconds are not right. Its not sure if this made a spectator, if yes, to stop Ogier, better to secure it with a padlock. For me it seems easy that the gate close when the car before him pass. Look, the gate closes when the codriver went back to the car.
What happens if an animal pass the road? This was also in past very often, with sometimes ended in an accident. Cancell the race? Thats rallying! About puncture, a user before means for sure if a spectator put a big stone on the road and next car push it. Any time changes in past? I dont remember.

You all have made very good points, which I can agree on. I just feel this situation was a case where you could make it right again. And the same should happen even with the slower drivers, that's for sure!
Ken Block is driving way better than I thought he would on this stage. Losing not to many seconds on Atkinson.
