A local driver from Wallonie. Previously did most of the rallies with an older Impreza WRX Sti. Since last year he tries to do some rallies in the second Fabia WRC here in Belgium now owned by Eric Cunin. Quite good driver was consistently faster last year in the home rally of Vande Wauwer who was in a 307 WRC then. Sadly Allart crashed out on SS Malonne and is out..Quote:

I think technical problems, he retired between SS17 and SS18. He's btw from St Vith like Neuville :)
Benoit Allart is the 1999 Koenig Formula German champion (Michael Schumacher took part to that championship before). He was on the short list of the Belgian drivers with an eye on Formula 1. http://paddockf1.tripod.com/belgium.html He drove in the Formula Palmer later on. After two years in the Palmer, he stopped his career and concentrate on his work in his garage. Funny thing is that he is a VW-Audi-Seat dealer. But no Skoda.Quote:

A little preview for the "Sezoensrally", 4th round of the Belgian Championship.
Fight for the victory should be between the WRCs and S2000s:
Bonjean David - Skoda Fabia WRC
Princen Kris - Subaru Impreza S12 WRC
Van Loon Erik - Ford Fiesta WRC
Kobus Hermen - Ford Fiesta S2000
Loix Freddy - Skoda Fabia S2000
I would guess Loix will take victory, as Princen hasn't got much experience in the rally or with the S12 on gravel. I see Van Loon finish 2nd and Princen 3rd.
Then there are a bunch of Evo's (Langenakens, Jonkers and Van Hoof should be the fastest ones) and a Fiesta R5 with a gentlemen driver:

Not a great entry list, but the mixed surface (about 40% gravel I think, highest percentage in Belgium) should make it an interesting rally.
There is around 30% gravel in this rally. ;)

Was a nice rally, despite the weak entry list (mainly the absence of any R2 cars as no cups had this event in their calendar). Again a victory for Princen, while Loix claims 2nd. The championship is halfway after this event, and we can already see that it's nearly impossible for anyone to prevent Loix from winning the title. Positive surprises were two Dutch drivers: Kevin Kooijman (EvoX) and Mats van den Brand (Fiesta R2).
