Thanks:) Soon i have to "study" finnish rallies. Hope one day have finnish member on our database :)
Any reports from F-Cup yesterday?
Well, I was there. Very straightforward event with hardly any crashes or other interuptions. It was nicely organised, mostly fast and flowing stages. Weather was kind of heavy, close to zero and especially during the first loop of stages which was run in daylight it snowed quite heavily at times.Quote:

Most notable retirement was Volvo-driver Tero Salminen.
After two events Nuorala now leads the series, Joonas Kolehmainen (who won the first event) is 1 point behind. Runner-ups Rekola, Rytkönen, Nevä, Ruoppa and Salminen are more than 10 points behind.
Next and last winter F-Cup event is Valkeala at March 1st.
Thanks Teemu!
Any more rallies for Janne Tuohino?
I also don't know but, for sure, he will miss the next rallyQuote:

Unbelievable news from FRC.
Saloracing Finland has filed in a criminal complaint concerning Juha Salo's retirement in Arctic Rally. The team believes that the car has been sabotaged during the night break in Parc Ferme by someone deliberately loosening one of the radiator hoses. They cite several Mitsu professionals who have said that they don't know a single case where this particular hose would have came unconnected by itself.
The real issue concerns the parking company which runs the parking hall. After the first contact, they promised to investigate security camera tapes. After that, they have not answered to Saloracing in any form. Also, as another competitor's service group had taken their crew's car to Parc Ferme around 3:30 in the night after a retirement on Day 1, they had seen a dark car leaving the parking hall. In the criminal complaint, Saloracing wants the police to investigate whether the parking hall company has deceived the rally organizers on the matter of providing physical guarding to Parc Ferme (as required by the rules).

Lots of crashes on same place on Vaakuna rally SS1, including Jarkko Nikara.. Some junction right it was, I dont know more..
Nikara's off was caused/contributed by problems with extralights.Quote:

Tomorrow there are six stages, and some rain (yes, water, not snow) is expected. Needing an umbrella in a winter rally? Quite an experience... :D Snow situation is minimal, however roads seem to have pretty good ice-coating.

Okay, FRC Mikkeli is driven! Juha Salo had a really good drive and won both overall and SM2-classifications. Second was Joni Nikko, he had very good speed throughout the rally, finally after some moments the gap was 15,2 secs. Third overall, and winning SM1 class, was Ari Vihavainen. Biggest surprise in SM1 was Veli-Pekka Karttunen, who showed incredible speed with old Subaru - I'm sure we will hear from him, as in Finland it's very rare that someone is so fast in 4WD so quickly.
In FWD classes SM3 (=R2 cars) and SM4 (=bigger fwd) winners were Joonas Lindroos (SM3) and Jarkko Savolainen (SM4). Lindroos had a good battle with Henri Haapamäki, he has found big speed from somewhere and challenged Lindroos very well. Also one driver to note: a newcomer to FRC, Teemu Suninen, had suberb speed in the rally and ended third in SM3 with Fiesta R2. He is a member of AKK's Driver Academy coaching programme.

Some issues in after rally scrutineering, rumours of Salo getting excluded (100g underweight side foam panels)...
Also to note, next F-Cup rally is cancelled because of the weather conditions.
I hope that that isn't true about 100g..I could imagine official Saksalaiset tai Ruotsalaiset being that nuts, but I expect better from you guys...Quote:

Poor F-cup guys---they need to pound on their cars! Re-scheduled?
Everytime a weight of particular part is homologated there is a tolerance window as well. I'm pretty sure it's more than +- 100 grams for the safety foam panels. Probably it is meant it was 100 grams bellow the lower tolerance limit. In that case to disqualify the crew is indeed harsh but a common solution. Sadly only big factory teams come out of this with fine or some meaningless time penalty.
Any more news after last rally?
Salo really excluded?
Also some more news after Arctic/Salo/parc ferme incident?
Not yet...Quote:

really looking foward what Sander Siniorg can do, he`s been fast in Estonia :)
Salo has no been excluded, but he will make an appeal. The appeal has to be processed during 30 days after it has been made. I would assume it will be processed very swiftly since the next FRC round is on the 8th of March and the series organizer for sure doesn't want to go there in a situation where the championship points in SM2 -class are wide open. Well the Arctic Rally parc ferme incident is still open, but for sure everyone will want to close this Mikkeli case.Quote:

I'm right now on my way to Joensuu, it is raining and +2... Conditions will be really difficult tomorrow. Like the series promoter joked, it's not the end of winter season but the start of summer season. :D :D
Please, make some comments here as well. Twitter, except for Teemu (Rallirinki), has only comments from drivers in finnish.
And vid-clips...? Anyone?
@Finnish members.
What's the retirement reason of No72, Berezkin?
http://tulossivu.autourheilu.fi/16R14/retirements.htm
Työeste = too much business / job ;)
How good is Velli-Pekka Karttunen? Can't find his age but looks young... One to keep an eye on?
Thanks. Interesting profile. Pretty fast for his age in a 4wd at national level.
Juha Salo entered by Hannu's Rally Team to a small rally called ABC Ralli with Fiesta R5. Let's see is it just some playing with the entry.
It would be nice watching him in NORF in R5!!
How about videos or pics from last weekend?
Riku Tahko will not continue in FRC. Problems with car supplier and no substitute available.
