I would like to thank you and everyone at Sky Sports for securing the rights to the NASCAR Sprint Cup in 2008. i am looking forward to watching the season and have subscribed to Sky Sports especially to watch the races.
However, i would like to add my input into how the races should be screened. firstly, please, please, please keep the original US commentary. these guys have been around NASCAR their entire lives, they are former drivers, crew cheifs and mechanics and they know more about NASCAR than anyone else. their input is central to the NASCAR experience, and by replacing their commentary you are depriving the thousands of UK NASCAR fans of the best insight into the sport.
Eurosport's coverage of the Rolex 24 race at Daytona was ruined by 2 commentators who seemed to know very little about the sport, and who by the sounds of things were not even in the same country! please do let do the same to your NASCAR coverage.
also, if you plan on covering the races like you cover the IRL, please do not let your studio team ruin the experience either. i know America has more adverts than is allowed in the UK and that time needs to be filled somehow, but if and when you go to the studio team, please ensure you return to the track in time for the US commentary team to pick up where they left off. by getting someone else rattle on about something they only have a small knowledge of, it is once again depriving us fans of the best coverage possible.
i wish you all the best with your coverage in 2008 and beyond and i hope you take my opinions on board
thanks
