Blame the strategists in the pit for that mistake.
Why would you give up track position at Monaco? Unless there was an issue with Hamilton's tyres that forced a stop, and Mercedes haven't said anything, then there was absolutely no reason to pit. Bonehead play of the year goes to the men in silver.
