In Belgium you drive mostly on tarmac, we should get some statistics about gravel/rough gravel events as well. Stats could change dramatically :) Although in local Estonian events R5 cars so far have performed well on every aspect, we have rallies around 100 stage km's which is not that much.
I'm sure that Belgian stages as demanding for mechanical components as gravel stages like in Nordic/Baltic regions. It's there are different types of tarmac, some very grippy, there are some gravel parts that are too brutal for tarmac set-up imo, there are very long straights that let cars go to RPM limiter, combined with junctions that lets cars brake all the way back to 1st gear to accelerate all the way again. It's different, but not less demanding than most gravel events I think. Also events here are longer than in most (not all) national championships, in average some 200km SS. Spa Rally was 200km SS, Condroz 243km SS, Rallye de Wallonie on first weekend of May will be 250km SS. Haspengouw had some brutal gravel sections that caused some drivers to retire (including a Lancer '05 WRC, where I've seen the wheel break off from big holes on a straight). Biggest difference between WRC and national events in Belgium is the amount of service the cars get, in Belgium there is probably 2x as much service as in WRC, compared to the SS kms they have to do.Quote:

According to the article on http://rallynorthwales.co.uk , You cab add Osian Pryce. He will will step up to Junior WRC. Don'y know if it's been said before.
Although I've never seen him live, I bet he'll be one to follow.
With Meeke, Cronin, McKenna and Pryce (+Breen, Fisher, Ingram or Armstrong in ERC) GB and Ireland seem to wake up.
New entrant from France in WRC2: Pierre Lafay with his Fiesta R5 ;)
Finnish magazine "Iltasanomat" posted article in their website revealing that Teemu Suninen will do rest of european events (8) in WRC2 season this year. Car is probably Toni Gardemaister´s Skoda S2000. Article says also that he will do some other races abroad also, starting from Rally Adriatico, Italy. He will be co-driven by Mikko Markkula.
