Preventing cutting means taking away a part of the sport/challenge/driving. The gravel/dirt/mud thrown onto the stage is part of the game and makes it more difficult for the drivers. I understand that in local events organizers do it to reduce the costs of repairs, but on this level stages should not be adjusted by organizers.
We have made also anti-cutting sticks on Barum rally. But it is not only because of less gravel on the road, but it is also helping so save the road (because when the cars are cutting, it is also destroying edges of the road).Quote:
