do we know how the accident happened ? was it on raod section ?
1 hour waiting time i think its exaggeration, with his injuries it would certainly be fatal....so do not belive anything the vulture reporters say...

The accident happened on the first special stage, not on the roadsection. These Italian "Rally Rondes" use the same special stage driven four times.Quote:

The weather had been and was "normal", atleast what I checked from Capo Mele (very close to Andora) weather station's METAR history. Temperature was around 10 centigrades, no indication of rain, some broken or few clouds. Ofcourse the stage was a bit more into the mainland and it's mountaineous area.
Some say that in the beginning of the corner there's some tree roots that have penetrated the tarmac and caused little bumps and that Kubica would have lost the control because of those. Others say that the reason was simply too high speed entering the corner. I guess the most precise guess is to combine those two. Maybe a bit too high speed combined with an external factor. The guardrail's end had to be straight and not embedded to the ground. When the impact happened, the guardrail penetrated the car's firewall passing the engine from the left side and entered the cabin with the consequences we all know.
Clearly there has been some problems with the rescue efforts because Mauro Moreno, the driver who started after Kubica, told that competitors didn't stop to the accident site (don't they have SOS signs (which when shown order to stop) in Italy?!) Therefore, the message hasn't reached the organizers fast enough and possibly it had to be done with a telephone. Then adding the time which it took for the rescue equipment to reach the scene (most probably driven from the start). So it really took some time. The chopper came from Turin, some 75 kilometres away.
I tried to locate the corner from Google Maps Satellite for nearly an hour but I just couldn't find it, myriads of roads in that area...
Is this allowed? or is against the italian road laws? i find it quite disturbing....Quote:

it was a fast section probably 4th-5th gear so the crews before them maybe didn't have the time to check.....but again when you don't see the drivers out of the car you stop no matter how bad the accident looks...
the place is full of guardrails....and especially at the start are at such height where they can easily penetrate through the windscreen....stupid positioning of them and stupid place for a special stage.
Maybe you can try to locate the church? The wall that was hit by Kubica's car was surrounding a local church. In Poland it is sad that the accident was caused (at least partially) by wet tarmac and a bumpy section at the beginning of the corner, that was caused by tree roots. Get well soon Robert!Quote:

Video from the rally, I hope that helps.
I think Mirek allready posted this video here a few posts ago, if you have a look at it you can notice that there are many rails and they are almost all not bended, i mean you can go straight on them, not bended to the ground or bended to side of the valley.Quote:
