Interesting tidbit about this photo. It was Della Penna's first weekend with the Swift, and Hearn only ran it for one session before crashing. They had to switch back to the crappy 1997 Lola they ran since the beginning of the 1997 season. As most know, certain figures were off during windtunnel testing, resulting in a poorly designed undertray (the part that most people attributed to the 1997 Lola's poor performance).
Hearn's Lola had the original undertray, while Fernandez had the new one-off Fontana undertray that was designed and built after the discovery of the windtunnel miscalibration. Fernandez finished 3rd.
