Wait… rain got worse after Rally1 cars finished? Or what was the problem?
A bit off topic, but this is the first 2nd place finish for Lappi since Turkey 2019, back in his Citroën days, also, I’m pretty sure it’s the first time in his career he scored three podiums in a row, although it will be a hard one to follow as he’s never been to Kenya.

Lappi has been relatively short time in Hyundai but he is doing well. It may improve or kill the team dynamic when Lappi start showing constantly better performance than Neuville which puts a lot of pressure to Neuville to show that he is The Man.
It will be interesting to see when fast-flowing competitions (Estonia, Finland) are coming.
Would love to see him beat Neuville fair-square in Estonia and Finland..
All understandable w teamorders and most likely Lappi new what he signed for, but at the finish line Neuville should have been a bit more calm :D It seemed like he had a really tough fight for the win..
Statistically it should not be the hardest task as Neuville does not like fast stuff, he seems to be better with relatively slow and rough roads.
But the problem for Neuville (and for Hyundai from driver title perspective) - every time Lappi is ahead of him he basically takes point away from him. And now Lappi is one of the biggest fan of Tänak-Ogier-Rovenperä-Evans, because the only hope for his own win is that he is leading and at least some of mentioned ones is between him and Neuville.

Pretty sure Lappi will be told to push for the win in Estonia and Finland. He's expected and required to be faster than Neuville there. If he can't fight for the top positions and deliver in his strongest rallies, what was he hired for?
The only way he'll be asked to slow down is if he's not fighting for position and he's 3rd with Neuville 4th, for example.
Yes ,,rules are rules'', but just came to a thought about the gloves fine..
Driver taking gloves off after finish line is bad and dangerous, but co-drivers don't wear them at all.. :D
Stupid rules shouldn't be in the book.

My question is - why this rule makes sense? Why it is dangerous?
Note: the question does not contain any statement or argument against that - it is valid question searching arguments, why this rule exists.
Back from an amazing rally, spectator-wise. In terms of competition it's more and more clear that the Rally1-category is unsustainable.

Very nice photos, thanks for sharing!
I always thought that gloves is for getting better grip with steering wheel 🤔
what..?!
No real point in this answer.
I'm not writing to bring up random argument, but this rule(okay stupid is tooo sensitive word) just doesn't make sense.
If needed, co-drivers could use ,,rubber-fingerdip'' gloves and all good, but there has remained some common sense and reality, that drivers use gloves for grip and co-drivers don't coz it would be too unconfortable and unnecessary.
Cmon.. is it a common thing that drivers are going 100-150+kmh thru finish and already taking off gloves? :DQuote:
Could be the issue is ensuring the driver maintains full control in the flying finish? removing gloves means taking hands off the wheel.
I Seem to remember that in the past you could get co Drivers Fia gloves, Which were just up to the Knuckles leaving finger tips free to turn the pages and press buttons etc, not sure what happened to them.
I´m pretty sure Oliver wore gloves while doing donuts in Portugal. However the driver, going in 100+ km/h speed don´t mix with his gloves, not even after finish line. But coming down to proper speed they sure can handle the car at the same time.
a very wet edition

She stopped, sent them away. Marshall's came and after a few minutes the spectators all were standing there again. Marshall's where the worst I've ever seen at that spot. Overall the marshall's were below par but especially at the Terranova jump they were horrible.
Had a great time on the island, did not need the factor 50 sunscreen that much ;-) Great spots, great food and some Ichnusa beers.

Beautiful shots bro!
There has been almost no other news in Finland during this week, because one animal philosopher started to discredit and blame Rovanperä, when he hit a cow, but it´s alive!
