Balls.... I have to wake up early tomorrow.
Rubbish game to end a largely boring tournament. Nothing ever really got going. We have had virtually no cracking games in the knock out phase.
Goooooooolllllll
Balls
Yayyyyy!!!!!
Happy for Penal do!
Congrat's Portugal
So the champions have effectively only won 1 match.
Sums up the whole tournament really.
Even England are better than Portugal :\
Lol. Nobody voted for Portugal in our poll. :p
What happened to Romania? we all voted for them.
Well its been fun guys. I think the tournament has been one of the worst I have ever watched. 2 or 3 good games, otherwise lots of defensive football.
Very disappointing.
Neither this thread was as entertaining as the one we had at the world cup.
Very disappointing.
Bye, guyz!!!
How can anyone say England are better than Portugal is beyond me. They played them before the Euro started and they only won on last minutes, in London, playing against 10 men for most of the match.
For me England was the biggest dissapointment of the Euro.
Congrats to Portugal.
France played a terrible match and deserved no more.
Overall a boring tournament.

Well done Frenchies :dozey:
Portuguese squad actually isn't weak, but it certainly took them lots of time to find their feet in this Euro. They got fortunate by getting to the weaker side of the tournament play-off, in addition to 3rd placed teams getting through into play-offs to being with. While strongest teams like France, Germany, Italy, Spain had to face each other early on and couldn't afford any "average performances" or they would have been pushed out straightaway.
Long time waiting though. Portugal has been in top 4 in major tournaments 5 times ever since 2000, so they have been pretty competitive for a while and finally they did it. They got somewhat lucky, but you always need luck in sports too, don't you - as the saying goes. Because there are many good teams, whose level is very close to each other, so it depends on the form of the day, who comes out on top.
I predicted this after the Hungary draw that they will now win. Real Madrid and now Portugal, easy draws to finals
This bitching and moaning about the new format and Portugal having an easy couloir has become tiresome. I don't like Cristiano Ronaldo either, as a person, but he is definitely up there with Messi one of the best in the world. While Messi is the most talented, Ronaldo is the harder worker and the more ambitious of the two. It's quite impressive he was able to keep such a rhythm for such a long period of time. Messi already had a few spells where he looked really burnt-out. And the Portugal team is by no means a weak one. Perhaps it's not the best but so are this tournaments with knock-out stages. Sometimes teams win just because at a corner the ball bounced off of someone's a$$ in the net.
I don't agree with the way some of you dismiss the teams Portugal played against. Croatia beat Spain and Germany only managed a draw against Poland. I think they proved they are strong teams. And Portugal didn't have it easy with them either. They needed 240 minutes to beat them... and penalties. (30 minutes shy of playing the length of another game :p ) Hardly a stroll in the park.
Some of you seem to be stuck in the past with the historically big names. This 24-teams tournament showed that gap between the 'big' and 'small' teams has narrowed a lot.
Well saiz Benny. I also think Penaldo is a great player and a big goleador, although all that fuss about being a sexy guy is getting on my nerves.. He's probably a big head but at the end of the day he eas a poor boy who made it. He also proved to have a big heart.
That's a bit of an understatement :p . I've accidentally seen him some time ago on TV taking a tour of his house. He has CR7 shaped door handles . How classy  and he's not self centered at all .
But speaking strictly of football he is world class
