can we find what exactly happened with Tanaks puncture? i think i read from Cormacks interview that wasnt a normal puncture, but from the touch to a bank tyre get out from rim? did i understand right?
When the onboard is uploaded, we can watch it.
What happened to Sordo?
Ott Tänak @OttTanak
Heart broken is the first word that comes to mind. Second is determined. We will do it one day. Huge thanks to every single Estonian fan

Tänak in a lot better mood at the press conference at the moment. When they were taking seats then Paddon showed to Tänak to sit in the middle :)

Finland will be a different ball game. Less sweeping factor. Latvala and Ogier will be very strong. A certain Estonian will be even more motivated to claim his first victory. A few drivers that have underachieved a little on this event would want to rectify that, Sordo and Østberg being two of them. Neuville has been very strong in Finland earlier, and Andreas will off course have some new found motivation, Meeke will have bad intentions, and knowing Hayden he dont want to be just coasting around either. So Finland should be interesting to say the least :)
I can agree with you, but being Estonian and therefore at least a little bit more biased, I think Tänak drove a better rally. On some onboards you can see Mikkelsen being a bit ragged and making small mistakes but I don't think Ott did as many.
Anyways, congratiulations to Andreas, even if his victory ruined my mood for the whole day. :D
Maybe Andreas did some small mistakes during this rally, but saying "he walked backwards into his victory" is just bitterness. It was a fair fight where Andreas ended on top after a great weekend.
Im sure Tanak will come back stronger. He shows that he is a top top driver and victory will come! :)
I agree with you. You always have to be gracious in defeat as they say... :D
But I can understand where the bitterness comes from because his victory was not due to superior driving or opponent's driver error, but due to just good luck-bad luck. And that is the thing that gives me optimism for the future.
I must add that I have never had that kind of emotion before from a motorsport event :)
There simply isn't enough emotion or great storylines in WRC these days.
So although this is painful for Ott and a lot of fans, all in all it's good for the sport I think. More signs of positive change, as close competition creates this kind of drama. Roll on Finland. Can't wait to hike into Ruuhimaki for Shakedown!
He is a beast !!!
No. Tänak is very light. thats why he was so fast
i wouldn't expect tanak to weigh more than 70kg.
You'd guess having to clean every rally is a 'heavy weight on his shoulders' so he should be used to that.
I'll show myself out.
i was wondering: since when is it allowed again to drive on 3 wheels to the service? i thought it was forbidden since a few years, but lefebvre did it anyway.
A very nice event this Poland was....the rain which came today showed us how can a weather turn everything up-side down.
About Tänak-a lot was already written and yes, he was on a winning course the whole week-end. But from previous experience let us be careful with statements ''Ott will be in a winning position on each gravel rally''. Give him and D-Mack a bit more time so that the disappointment would not ruin almost perfect Poland event.
I'm also very happy for M-Sport; the result shows us how close regarding performance & speed all four manufactures are. Fiesta is not a crap car....
By the way - what a relief this Ott's flat tyre was in Wolfsburg...they were already on the way to lose the 4th rally in the row....''red alarm'' !!
What a sad, yet glorious day for Ott.
You write history, boy.
Respect!
It is still forbidden on public roads. Did he drive without the wheel in opened traffic? I remember when Lappi was first penalized (or excluded) for driving on three wheel on the road section in Portugal but the decision had to be canceled since it appeared that the road although it wasn't a stage was closed for public.
Also a possibility. I admit I don't know how it was.
i know that NOT will love this, i didnt make it myself, LOL

@dimviii
Read this.
What could you expect after his performance with Adam? I´ll tell a few thngs, you if you didn´t count it out yourself:
- making pace notes. Without that talent you never win 1st time in Ireland gainst homedrivers.
- tactics
- mental streghtness
However he´ll need more than these three (3) performances in WRC2 to be top guy. Everyone is aware of that. Maybe a better car too. But that you alredy knew even if not saying.
Tanak hits a hole or something on broken tarmac at 9:09. Although Lefebvre looked worse, Breen made it to service in the R2 Fiesta with a rear wheel completely locked but strapped to the car. Police wouldn't let you drive with that on a normal car so i think he should have been stopped.
It was a great drive by Tanak. Cruel that it slipped away.
Mikkelsson won by being there and deserved his win every bit as much as Tanak would have.
Great duel for 3rd and 4th created by the weather change.
Great sportsmanship shown by Ogier and others to Tanak.
Great performance by Ford and DMack.
This would not have been this way without the starting order rules.
Yet another winner.
This is the most competitive season for many years. Why would anyone want to change the start order rules?
Poland produced an awesome rally but how many people would bet on it being on the calendar next year?
which stage do you mean? ss20? at 3:10 minutes Tänak says puncture...i guess you mean different stage then?
Strange that the yellow flag was shown to Ogier, but good response to rectify this with the correct time so quickly.
i think he did a great time with those 3 wheels, just 0.1 slower than Mads :p
