No, the SSS's seem very much the same as in WRC 2. Too bad they haven't actually made them identical as in real life (ex. Karlstad SSS).

We'll see. If somebody from Milestone actually had been bothered to answer our questions, we'd be able to know. LCD: Another suggestion. How about we make a new thread for WRC 4 once WRC 3 has been released, so we can post suggestions for improvements for WRC 4 in one go? The earlier we give our feedback, the better the chances are that the improvements will be made for next years game.
I'v already sad this to LCD and I also hope that someone create a WRC 4 thread as fast as possible when WRC 3 is out in the stores and we played the game for some times to discuss future improvements.Quote:

I hate the replays.. specially that Argentina SSS... Looks horrible!!!
Picture mode... another one for the kids!
I really would like a heli/tv replay like in real. That would be awesome!
I am dissapointed that a forum moderator has tried to quell the obviouse distain put forward by simulation enthusiasts,if the internal and external engine sounds are not to they're liking surely this is the place to vent those concerns especially as there is a direct link to the developer through the UK distributor,as a person fortunate enough to compete in several national B rally events as co driver and was taken around the Cardiff super special stage in Richard Burns last competitive WRC car driven by Mark Higgins, I can tell you with confidence the sound is poor at best in trying to recreate the audio that comes from these fantastic machines. Please remember this is their third attempt at the WRC franchise and only now are we getting anywhere near a pure rally game that we can actually play that has a passing resemblance to the motor sport we love,This third instalment should have been the very least we should have expected from the first game and we should be now well on the way to toppling an ancient RBR game alas we are not,Even though we will soon be £100 + lighter in our wallets come friday.
Well said!
The 'WRC3' thread Is for general discussion about the game. My aim Is to keep It Interesting for all
(members + visitors) and not recycle the same things over and over again.
Anyone wishes to discuss the WRC3 sound Issue only (or any other), please make a separate thread and do It!
No problem at all!
P.S. A 'WRC4 Wish list' thread will definitely open, some time after we get the whole picture about the game ;)
LCD: regarding the WRC 4 thread, thanks!! Let it open in late november, begining of December, so we hopfully can pass on our discussion and improvement wishes to Milestone before they start to work and create the new game! :)
Regarding this thread. I can absolutely understand what you mean, I personally it's carying away and see "red" when the sound discussion starts and it's not funny to read the same things page down and page down but we must discuss it but I think we have done that now and if Milestone read this, then they hopfulley understands that many fans is not satisfyed yet! ;)
I will stop talking about it and now we soon can discuss the whole game and compete together!! :D
Yes indeed the WRC3 thread has been created for the general discussion of all aspects of the game, including the SOUND which is the SECOND most important aspect of any motor sport simulation video game only beaten by the physics handling model,So this is indeed the right place to DISCUSS the relevant issues with the poor sound for existing members and visitors alike, For the overall immersion of any video game to work you need to feel that all your senses are being attacked from all relevant inputs from the force feedback wrenching at your wrists from your steering wheel (GT500) to the enveloping sounds of your cars engine straining as it comes near its limits, To the road and tyre sounds that give you vital clues as to where the traction is gained and lost to keep the momentum of your car flat out through the stage to obtain the fastest possible time.So please let us mere mortals have our gripes and groans about the poor SOUND aspect within the WRC3 game thread from your lofty position MR moderator.PS now ive had my rant about freedom of speech looking forward to any set up tips next week and possible time comparisons can't quite get my head around the sub 4minute times on the demo stage can only manage 4:16s funny how no one shows them actually playing and and the options used.
Wrc focus:
One thing is sure, I can't belive how someone with a handcontrol on a console can drive the singel stage in the demo version around 4min (4.01-0.4) with NO helpsetups engage! Thats respect!
With a good steering wheel, absolutley but with a handcontrol and no "help"... :O
No feeling at all but respect if it's possible! :P
I hope they follow Forza leaderboards, where you can see if they used assists or not.
Jojje
Totally agree Astro83 can't understand how the cars look so stable whilst apparently using a hand controller and no driver aids doesn't look right to me,ive driven the stage dozens of times with a wheel and with the increase in speed with the higher gear needed to try and match their speed the cars become naturally unstable more so than shown on the videos,i have tried to follow their lines not that they are really anything different but can't carry as much speed as they seem to be to achieve such times.
I asked the same question in the demo thread.Quote:

Wrc focus & Jojje: We are on to them now!!! Mohahaha ;)
Wrc focus: When you play with the wheel, do you think that the demo version has good physics??
I think that it's promesing when I cant get good "control" when I play with no assists and a handcontrol...
I would be nice to hear if you think that the not finish demo version has good physics? Then the realise version must be even better! ;)
I even hear that Alan in Team VVV had sad that in PC version, we can use any steeringlock we want on our wheel. That's really really nice!!
But for you guyes who play on consoles, the lock will be set on 300.
I really really hope that they succeed with the physics in this game! :O
Astro83 I believe the physics model in this current demo is what we will get in the finished game,Which to me is a good thing as this is what has completely changed our (simulation rally game fans) minds towards the franchise after such poor performances in all aspects of the first two iterations of the game,i cant even mention the first game as it went in the bin after about ninety minutes, the second game lasted considerably longer due to the fact it played with the T500 on ps3 and some small improvements to the overall gameplay especially the handling model, back to your original question for me the most significant improvements within gameplay with the steering wheel is the force feedback which has ten times the strengh over the other games and the ability to be adjusted which is fantastic for all the wheels available for the title,I like the feedback load sensation through the wheel using lift-off oversteer and other sensations felt through tyre load but feel there is lots of room for improvement as there is so much of the surface sensation missing, there needs to be road camber, ruts, rocks divets etc seen and hidden and all felt through the wheels feedback in the future which may sound obssesive but achievable with todays technology after all this is why we hand over our hard earned cash to immerse ourselves in simulation as close to the real adrenalin fuelled Motorsport that we love as possible.
Jojje i tried the demo with all aids on with the ps3 controller (being a seasoned wheel gamer) not my thing and i equalled my wheel times easily and the replays looked just as stable as the other vids,so with a lot of practise maybe they can do it ????????????
I dont ever use assists but I also tried it.Quote:

Just as most ( or all ) of the sub 4 videos that I have seen.
But as you say, perhaps they are that good.
We just have to keep practicing.. :)

Wrc focus live:
Okey, Thanks for the good answear!
If I understod you right, so is the physics really good with a decent wheel? Good force feedback and more...
But is it no feeling in the wheel when you going over a crest and jumps?? And when the road is poor do you not feel this either??
I agree with you, I didnt even play the last to games because it was soooo badly developt, no feeling at all, that was not rallygames...
This will be so much better but indeed, it's need much more improvements for WRC 4 but I think this game will be great and I can stop playing the old RBR.. ;)
Challenges look quite Interesting afterall. The courses may be short, but technical!
Gates revealed just some meter before you approach them; this Is a nice Innovation ;)

LCD,nice early videos of the mini games, the Top Rally stage section looks fantastic to drive wonder if its part of the actual event stage or just something made for the mini games ?
Looks like challenges courses, are sections taken from the 'actual' event stages.
Meanwhile, watch carefully this video: Looks that Mexico, Argentina and Germany have 7 stages each (6 special stages+1 super special)

Totally agree, that Mexican stage look absolutely amazing :)

Did you see my answear to you and some new questions for you about the physics? ;)
It's over the newest videos on last page...
Lcd:
The last video to see that the game has 7 SS didnt work. Youtube cant open it.
It is looking very good. I good thing about the S***D is that every car has it's own sound! :)
The stages in "contest" is sections from "singel stage" mod.
As long as the Championship mode is a real and realistic rally game/sim mode then this "contest" will be a fun thing to do between the rounds in the importent championship! :D
I dont think that this "contest" mode/ road to glory is a bad move from Milestone as long as the real wrc championship mode is just as real as it gets!!
That's strange. I am watching It right now...Quote:

I have seen the video now, Sweden and Portugal also have SSS.
To bad that it's not the real SSS taken from real life. It's the SSS from the fantasy make WRC 2.
But I hope that they make all new stages who is like the real thing for WRC 4. And also "power stages".
LCD, nice video again and it gives a clearer picture as to what were getting, Astro83 the physics model in the demo is fun and forceful with the Thrustmaster t500rs on the Ps3 there is good strong feedback when you steer quickly with tyre load on both tarmac and gravel with decent sensations under braking but its the small detailed input from the road surface it-self that is missing especially on gravel with very little feeling biased towards momentum over gravel or pot-holes, cambers, rocks and jumps,if you compare it with say Dirt3 (in my opinion) Dirt has the better overall feedback sensations but WRC3 has a more realistic handling model, the console titles are far less developed that the PC version so that could be a whole lot better regarding the overall driving experience.
Am I the only one who thinks the cars seem a little too grippy on gravel? I especially get the feeling of this when seeing the car from behind.
Wrc focus live:
Thanks for your answear! :D
Okey that sounds very intresting and I'm glad to read this, and I hope very much that I feel the same when I get to try this on my PC with my custom built G27! Intresting as I say! :)
But it's very important that it's a good feeling on gravel, the momentum and feeling that you acculy drive on a gravel road!
But if the overall feeling is much better then dirt, then I think it's going to be really good and for WRC 4 with even more development it's going to be perfect!!
Bennizw: sometimes I think the same but I can get som long drifts on the demo, but it's all up to the speed! ;) And today, it's much faster to go with a lot of understeering on gravel to! ;)
But with a steeringwheel you will get some good slides.. :)
Based on Alan's videos, looks that grip depends on each countries surface. Mexico Is more grippy than Italy for example but less than Wales or Sweden. Alan has stated there Is an obvious change of car's peformance, each time the rooad surface changes.Quote:

I hate all rallygames, even RBR with stages on snow, because the grip on snow is so unreal in all games I'v tried. I hope WRC 3 is better! :D
I got it, a day early!
Very good so far.
Glad you are enjoying it! I'll hopefully see you on the leader boards, I am "PainMachine13" for reference. It doesn't have the same ring to it in racing games as it does in FPS games...
Games arrived!!!

LCD I'm so cheesed, I can't afford just the Pc version and you've got the PC & Xbox versions!
Seriously noticed how all the forums and facebook pages have gone very quiet, I presume everyone is enjoying the game! ;)
Nah, I pre-ordered with Amazon so I probably won't receive it before Christmas ;)Quote:

I can't wait, but I would love to hear your oppinion on the game so far! :)
I'm getting the game tomorrow, no stores would sell it to me the day before release, even though they had it in stock :)
Now that you've got the game LCD, are there improvements to the car sounds or not?
