Here is the "trailer & test day" of Peugeot Sport Turkey's new contenders, the first female drivers competing in IRC:Quote:

Well, seems like Škoda has superb lineup for this year and also Ford is going to play some jokers later in the season. It looks harder and harder for Peugeot to repeat its win in the IRC manufacturers category. Skoda has all the good drivers so far and Peugeot has only Meeke to fight against their armada.
In manufacturer championship You're probably right (although I wound't underestimate Thierry Neuville) but in drivers championship Kris Meeke is the only top driver on every surface. He stays as top favorite for me.
Yes, Meeke is for drivers top. But this year there are a few rougher rallies like Cyprus and Sardegna where Peugeot might not be too reliable and there will be very tight competition between Kopecky, Hänninen, Wilks and hopefully Attiyah (seems that he has found the real speed of Fabia) and Mikkelsen as well in the near future. So, his task is very much harder than last year.Quote:

I only know that is quite sure is come back at Sardegna and he´s trying to get more budget to do more IRC events and the 1000 Lakes with a S2000 car.Quote:

The IRC Cyprus rally is also part of the MERC, so me shouldl see Khalid Al Qassimi in the Fiesta S2000 in Cyprus too. Will the MERC entrans start together with the IRC field? In Jordan the MERC started seperated from the WRC?
I don't see any problem between IRC and MERC. There are no problematic rules like single tyres or single fuel in IRC.
Hmm, nothing too special amongst the extra Ford starters.
Mikkelsen should be able to pick up some strong finishes but I still see the manufacturers title being Skoda-Peugeot-Ford.
I was posting the same... at the same time as you Pluto...Quote:

Maybe VW will quit from Rally Raids and join rallys with an S2000 car.. with help and experience from Skoda Boys...
It would be really great :)
Don't think so. It's private Argentinian Barattero project.Quote:

Stephane Prevot has told that he will navigate Chris Atkinson on 6 Asia-Pacific rallies and 6 IRC rallies, in the Proton. Proton had planned 8-9 IRC ralies, so we will see other drivers too in the Proton?
Proton will do a maximum of 8 since I don't think they are going to Canarias and afterwards there are only 8 left.Quote:

Maciej Oleksowicz will drive in the European Rally Championship (ERC) at the wheel of a Fiesta S2000. He has already confirmed 4 rounds: Rally 1000 Miglia Rally Croatia (if not canceled), the Rally of Poland and the Rally of Ypres. He will also participate in other 4 innings but he has yet to decide.

Croatia rally is not cancelled..
Daniel Oliveira will contest a total of 10 Intercontinental Rally Challenge events this season in his Stohl Racing-run Peugeot 207 S2000.
The 24-year-old from Brazil hadn’t planned to compete again in the series until the Ypres Rally in Belgium from June 24-26. His next event will now be Rally Islas Canarias from April 29-May 1. The only events he is scheduled to miss are the rounds in Sardinia and Czech Republic.
Manfred Stohl, Oliveira’s team boss, said: “We always wanted Daniel to concentrate on getting experience, not results, because he still has a lot to learn. Doing these extra rallies will be good for him.”
Carlos del Barrio will partner Oliveira on Rally Islas Canarias. The Spanish veteran has extensive experience of the asphalt event, which Oliveira will be tackling for the first time.

I personally do not like the trend, as it will separate our cars to international scene. Currently local temas are very competitive worldwide with Lancers and Subarus N4.
