my pictures from iepres
http://www.rallyepics.at/bilder/rall...17ypernrallye/
must say i was a bit dissapointed how difficult it was to work as fotografer in belgium....
but the rallye itself was great and spectacular, the service park is the best i have ever seen and belgium as a country is very interesting with a lot of historic places!

Why? Some people prefer fast places rather than slow corners and hairpins. It's good to have some alternative. I found this video more interesting for me than a video from several different T-crossings...Quote:

I also prefer faster places, but not straights... Generally I like diversity.Quote:

Thanks to the others for the reactions.
Anyway, very poor performance of Abarth.
They must consider Gardemaister for Rally Russia. It's obvious that Basso has no chance in Russian gravel.
I feel sorry for Abarth. At the start of this year we were expecting some legendery rivalary action between peugeot and abarth but they are nowhere near.
Thanks to skoda we can see some proper competition.
Yeah pitty about Abarth. Hope they can regain some speed very soon.
@WRC1: this was a very nice spot on top of the 'hill':

You can see the famous jump from there as well... :D
Well I’ve finally recovered from two rallies and countless miles in 1 weekend…
was a weird rally – everyone raved so much about the place that I guess my expectations were pretty high,
I really enjoyed it, and the action was fierce and the people friendly, but why oh why soooo much red tape!!!
Anyway, a small selection of my photos…[

It's annoying for photographers, it slows down people who need to cross the area, it's more work to remove. the tape along the road is quite useless too, surely everyone understands where to stand with one bit of tape. I tried one of the press areas, I abandoned that idea soon enough, seems they though photographers like pics taken behind a concrete pole, tape and advertising signs. :D The only way to get something decent is avoiding them, and possibly the "public areas" too.
The rules are more relaxed in the south, you're more likely to see the opposite (although they're getting the hang of it too).
Well, in Flanders red/white tape is something that is obliged by the governement and that is just how it is. I even heard the color should be red/white by law! The size of safety zones in also defined by law.
The problem with Ypres Rally is that it is one of the biggest in Flanders and it is taken as an example for the others: if they can't do it right, why would others be possible to do so? In '95 someone hit spectators and one was killed in Ypres, since then it's going this way. It was a tragic accident, but the green parties try to take advantage of it (and other accidents of course) to forbid rallying in general, cause it fits in there green mind.
This is a bit of history why it has become the way it is. It looks and probably is over sized, but I'm sure it has saved lives and maybe the sport as well, for now.
Ok Juha, you were faster then me :p
A lot of action and slides in a video from rally-mad.com althouh I don't like that editing very much.

Now you come to ,mention it,, The Lille stage, for the competitor side, did not seam to have do much tape,, real nice stage, and complete with arrows !!! :)

I think it's the first time that a IRC thread beats the WRC one ?
32 pages compared to 29 ... and Loeb didn't even win ! xD
Some pictures here : http://www.rally-news.fr/gallery/show/6201
Enjoy
This one is way much better.Quote:

Vouilloz's retirement was due to Solowow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7FHS...c-HM-fresh+div
Seems very unfair of Solowow, because he wasn't able to get any points at that moment and Vouilloz had still the chance for getting some for his own and Peugeot
IMHO it was VERY stupid retirement from Nicolas.
He got behind Michal just few seconds before. It's not easy to see anything behind You in S2000 mirrors and You can't expect that everyone knows about You immediately when You catch him, especialy not on straight. I don't see any reason why it should be unfair. I believe he didn't knew about him in such a short moment.
Two special stages onboard with Victorien Heuninck (C2R2). Mesen-sauvegarde(1) and Heuvelland(1)
