Getting rep from within the rep thread now, the plot thickens. This time "Thinking your above everyone else". Harsh words from Mr. Invisible!

Some confusing ones as well, got a positive mark but negative comment from some other user!

Right, after extensive research, I'm ready to publish my definitive theory on rep.

You get points, both good and bad, on a sliding scale dependant on how many points the sender has. If you have loads of green, you give stronger rep with higher points. If you have no good rep, or all bad rep, you can't give good rep I don't think. Hence the grey stuff.

Rep is not a limited resource, so far.

If you send somebody rep after exchanging PMs on the subject (in the hope of working out how it works between red and green) they become a loser and do not fulfil their part of the bargain. Rep is therefore liable to make the friendless even more lonely :)

if you can't turn the points into cash, there isn't much point in worrying about them at all.
