It makes no sense only to be there. They have to take some of the very best drivers available to achieve also some remarkable results like they did in the past with the Satria S2000.
If its money available, they should hire some of the free drivers, like Tidemand, Meeke, Lappi(?), Paddon, etc, for single outings or whole season in ERC and WRC3.

Maybe Mellor should give Mikkelsen a call, to get him in for a few rallies in either WRC or ERC, to get the car a real test.
He has been quick in many cars, and should give them a good bunch of data and feedback!

Very easy to understand that it´s 2nd fastest rally car.
(Just like Formula1 is fastest and bigger numbers are slower)

S1600,S2000 and WRC
and so on...
Sometimes names change and life goes on...

The findings made during these outings flow directly into the process of updating and maintaining the product: the Polo GTI R5 will first receive modified suspension parts in spring, while new components for other key areas of the car will be developed over the course of the year.
“The success story of the Polo GTI R5 is overwhelming. In customer hands, it had already claimed more than 75 victories and 125 podium finishes by the end of 2019,” said Volkswagen Motorsport Director Sven Smeets. “However, it is not only the success of our customers that is important to us, but also their experience in a wide range of conditions – whether on asphalt, gravel, or ice and snow. While new chassis components are already being used by customers, a larger package of detailed improvements will be developed over the course of the year and homologated for use in competitions including the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), FIA European Rally Championship (ERC), and national championships.
