Evans really good. Thinking it over it´s not a surprise.
Brilliant again for Evans. Keep going lad!
Perhaps too optimistic pace note. Around 80 meters brake blockage marks before the right with the fist compression. Compression could upset undercar donwforce due to airflow strangulation before diffuser. Second compression on the left does not help and very slight humid. I am on the place.
WRC Fiesta needs a better engine.
More then 120m in straight
Last year Evans crashed out from 6th, 3 mins behind. This year he leads.
Last year Tänak was clearly fastest, this year he crashed from 4th.
Not all cars are the same?
Lappi had a field excursion
These times don't reflect well on Suninen.
Ask Makinen if not JML would´ve been better than this Katsuta...
I know Toyoda want him to drive (Katsuta) but still...
Elfyn Evans take a bow son !
All WRC teams have deployed four cars at a rally after 2017 (including Citroen). It's not a matter of resources, it's a question of someone paying for it.
Also, it's pointless to say "you have a WRC car in the garage, why not let someone drive it?". Of course they have spare chassises, but it's not free to run it.
Yeah it looked mostly a gentle slope down the hill onboard, but the more videos and images we see it seems to get worse and worse. I think we can all be happy that everyone is safe and ok.
We could also add that it’s fortunate that no Marshall or spectator cars were parked on the road below.
What happened to Formaux yesterday? looks really fast today
Evans 16 sec faster from Ogier today at 3 stages.Faster at all 3 stages.
Both at new car.Impressive.
Early days but a great start by Evans.
Too soon for any conclusions though and esp on this rally. There are so many variables.
This applies to the slow M-Sports too.

The vice-World Champion is 8.9 seconds behind the former M-Sport driver, while Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Yaris WRC), third, is only eight tenths of a second behind his Belgian rival.
"It was a difficult morning for us, admitted Thierry Neuville at the microphone of Olivier Gaspard, the RTBF's special envoy to the south of France. We start the morning 19 seconds early, we finish with 10 seconds late. Not a good morning for us, and yet I think we did well in the last two stages. In the first, it was very complicated: we stalled, we lost time ... and it took a long time to understand the annotations of our openers (Bruno Thiry, his usual opener, being sick, it is the Spaniard Dani Sordo who replaces him in this particular role this weekend, Editor's note: Obviously, we don't always speak the same language, and I was suddenly a little hesitant. Toyota in front of this morning? This is probably worrying for this rally, but for the rest, I don't know But at this speed, we will have a hard time resisting them. A little more difficult conditions, this could have der, because under fairly constant conditions, they go very fast. "

the good old Ogier
--------------------------------------
Neck and neck, the two men had to bow this Friday morning against the speed of the Welsh Elfyn Evans (Toyota Yaris WRC), very comfortable for his first driving the Japanese racing car, and now in the lead of the event with a little ten seconds in advance.
"It was a decent morning, everything is fine so far, rejoiced Sébastien Ogier at the microphone of Olivier Gaspard, the RTBF's special envoy on Monte-Carlo. But I'm not yet 100 % comfortable, and I'm sure we can do even better. The proof is that our teammate is doing better than us at the moment! But we're going to hang on. "
And when we tell him that Thierry Neuville said that if the conditions remained constant, he could not do anything against the Toyota: "Thierry, anyway, it's never his fault if he is not fast enough, we know that! "smiled the six-time World Champion, used to little" wars of words "with his Belgian rival in recent years.
