the only way VW won't win the event now is if they get an ilegal something like Citroen got back in 2009...
Nasser will be running first on the road, because Ostberg didn't make it
I don't know if Ostberg is still running, maybe just slow on liaison with his broken suspension?
Atkinson trough power stage in 5.37.8
Kubica is faster trough in 5.31.6
Evans a fraction slower in 5.31.9
New besttime for Neuville, in 5.26.1
Paddon is 3,5 sec slower as teammate Neuville
Hirvonen looking fast on split
Hirvonen new besttime in 5.25.2
Exactly same time for Mikkelsen as Hirvonen!!!
Meeke fastest on split sofar
Besttime for Kris in 5.24.5, so he takes at least one point from PS
Latvalla with awesome split
Wowh, Latvalla trough in 5.20.7
Ogier is 1,7 slower at split compared to JML
Latvalla takes PS win!!!
3 points for JML, 2 for Ogier and 1 for Meeke
Ostberg is in power stage now, so still running
But he is moving slowly, so gonna loose some more time on this last stage, but maybe he will make it to the end anyhow...
wrc+ stream not working and radio not working also, just in the final minutes!!!! god damn them!!!
So, this rally is over, Ogier extending his lead a ltlle bit more, VW taking manufacturers championship. Some very nice driving by VW drivers, but also by Meeke, who was the only one able to challenge VW boys. Disappointment of the rally was Atkinson, not able to realise any decent time. Nasser taking the win in WRC2.
Mads Ostberg made it trough the last stage in 8.58.5, loosing another 3min+, but he will finish the rally after all, so both Citroens made it into the end.;)
Another one of those rallies - in retrospect not that as disappointing as the end result as there was genuine battles and thrill along the way.
it worked in the end (WRC+) first VW podium lock out, let's hope Citroen's will fight back next year-6th and 7th in the standings, very disappointing..
Serderidis made it to finishline of PS, but stopped between it and the stopfinish, so what happened?
Congrats to VW for the 2nd title in a row. Nice driving from 1st 4 drivers, Hirvonen & Paddon.
About Meeke's & Mikkelsen's penalties - could their shortcuts be classified as "dangerous" for the spectators. Stewards for sure note this in the protocol for Meeke.
when will be the final press conference?
Happy for Kris he's now showing that he can be fast and consistent and the contract for next year must be secured already. Hope that with more experience with the rallies and the car he can be a little bit faster and will chalenge the VW boys. Also positive rally for Kubica menaging to finish it without rally2 and taking some points. Still making small mistakes but experience is needed to be fast and consistent in WRC. Bring on rally France now!
only 6 more points than latvala and Ogier secures title number 2...
Atko big disappointment. As well as TAnak who´s crashing all the time.
Meeke, Mikko, Paddon, JML very good performances.
Maybe tyre choices should be out. Everyone wear same after decision from tyre maker?
It's a circuit racing rule, 'respect track limits' - and has no place in Rallying. Even the penalty is a circuit racing penalty; 'gaining an advantage' so has to give a place up; so, if you are 5,10,30 secs or even 5mins ahead of the car behind, you have to drop behind them. Utterly ridiculous - if you must get a penalty, name it 5/10 secs.
But, why had this rule been introduced? 'Cutting' had been in Rallying forever....so why change it now?
FiA Jobsworths strike again.
So VW get their 1,2,3 and the Manufacturers Title. Well seeing as Jost loves RallyX, maybe they can go there, and take him with them - and leave the WRC alone.
Funny talk about the cutting.
The decision is completely in line with the age-old rule in rallying: competitors must follow the route shown in the road book. Quite often (in special stages) it's applied in a way that atleast two wheels have to be on the marked route. If you take a massive cut, you're not following the route. In some occasions organizers should also prevent cutting in places they don't want it to happen (like perhaps here should have been done).

Atkinson left Australia too early, or didn't do enough in the lower series, before moving to WRC. He's never recovered his potential since.
