However, choosing someone like Solberg or Meeke would get you not only a driver likely to score a better result but also far more positive publicity, especially off the back of Meeke being on Top Gear and thus now being in the consciousness of the general public.

As you say Nasser's money probably had a big say...although I suspect that M-Sport offering a saving for this event is what led to Wilson getting the drive, rather than it being Al Attiyah's real opinion.

First day of recce: 641kms and 11h. It has been snowing 20cms in rally area and it looks like a winter rally. Not as much snow as in last 3 years but road conditions are good!

Back on topic, glad to hear there's been a dump of snow out there, I was starting to worry a bit! We've more or less finalised our plans now, but we're struggling for a good location in Finnskogen and Sagen. Any help would be appreciated...

About 600m after the start in Sagen is a very nice fast lefthander followed by some easy bends. Was always very spectacular and everytime really few spectators around compared to other places on the stage.

There was not so many cars, parking was possilbe about 600m before the start, next to a lake.

I was in the same place last year. Really a nice place although this left turn is quite sharp, but at least the road is wide and cars approaching it with high speed. There was a special parking place organised near the start so very easy access and not so much spectators.

the historic cars will only do SS1+Vargåsen + Saturday's first loop. They will run "directly after" (whatever that means) the WRC event cars.

whera are places at 13.25? 13.40? and 13.46?

As I said before, for you guys who not will visit Rally Sweden, you can watch live from some of the stages on SVT Play, they will do some live broadcast and so on!

I´m leaving also for Sweden rally now. I hope everyone will enjoy the rally.
