Well, this is something totally different as Valli Pordenonosi ! More WRC cars, eight S2000 cars ( Go Kimi, go..)and 22 R3 Clio's. And not to forget, two Slovenian drivers with C2 Max, we will cheer for them !!
In the general ranking I espect a tight fight beetwen Chentre, Re and a local driver, Gasparotto.
In a class S2000 two rivals from CIR-Signor and Gianfico will play the main role, but all eyes will be focused in a guest driver, Kimi Raikkonen !!
So, waiting for Saturday...
Go Humar and Petric!
I think Humar will be very fast...

Here You go ;) Kimmi retired on SS3...

What happened to the Kimster? I thought his times were not too bad for his first asphalt rally.

Ooops, hope to see Kimi doing some rallying again soon.Quote:

About WRC's drivers is not to be diskussed, theay are very, very fast and attractive. In the Clio R3 class is a fight to the knife, they are all the time on the limit and I yust hope that none of the crew does not make a mistake, because this could have severe consequences.
Plesure for Slovenian fans-Humar was with his C2 Max second in his class.
Frustration of the race are undoubtedly Peugeot's 207 R3T: with the restrictor they run so slow, even the view on the ranking shows this-they were not only behind C2 Max, but even Clio N3 was much faster !! What is the point of this cars, I don't know, I yust hope for a increase in the engine power. The only positive feature is the balance of the car, here is the progress towards P206 RC obvious.
Do these cars have to run a certain size restrictor in order to remain in class A6 (or whatever)?Quote:

I really can't remeber a more boring rally car... (this is a hyped Peugeot project remember)
They are A7 and have 28 mm restrictor I think.Quote:

Entrylist of next week's Rally del Salento, event counting for tarmac championship(TRA)and International Rally Cup(IRC)...
http://www.rallydelsalento.com/mater...ritti_2009.pdf
I'm a bit disappointed :(
Tom, I can not completely agree with you, if you remember lists of registered at the TRA Championship in this part of Italy, participation was always very modest, due to distance. Now the organizers solved this by the coefficient (double points) and thus attract the crews. All the main players of TRA and IRC Championship are logged, so we can expect a nice race!
In ten days starts Rally San Marino, gravel race for CIR and we already recived an important news about special guests, which will participate on this event. First name will undoubtedly be Toni Gardemaister, runing Motoring Club's Impreza. Second on the list is Alexander Zheludov, twice the Russian Champion, driving Munaretto P207 S2000. And also Serkan Yazici with Grande Punto S2000....
It will be interesting to watch fights between Navarra and Gardemaister in identical cars....
I would expect Toni to be much faster...Quote:

Alex Raschi, usual very fast driver of Renault Clio R3, will drive a 207 S2000 for next week Rally San Marino :D
This is it, list of partipations for next round of CIR, Rally San Marino:
http://www.rallysanmarino.com/2009/pdf/iscritti.pdf
I'm almost speachless.....can not belive: 19 S2000, 34 Suby/Mitsu.....
Toni Gardemaister as a guest, Piero Longhi for the first time with Fabia. Well, something is for sure, Toni will not win (with all respect for Toni !!), but some top Italian drivers will push like hell.....
Good entry indeed :)
No Perico ??? :(
I hope Toni G can win this in Impreza.. It's gravel and that car can still win on that kind of surface..
I doubt it...
He can't match Ucci,Rox,Longhi and Travi on home terrain in my opinion ;)
I doubt it only in terms of motivation.. After works teams again in fight with some locals.. And without sequentual gearbox..
Guys, don't forget that Toni Gardemeister is not such an exceptional driver. He's very good off course, but have you ever seen him winning anything important? At least any ERC, IRC, not to mention a WRC round? Drivers such as Andreucci, Rossetti, Travaglia etc. have achieved much more in rallying...
By the way, a great entry list, indeed! It's going to be a fantastic rally!
Good joking! First time I saw Toni G was on Eurosport coverage from MC rally ('98 or '99; Ibiza kit car without sponsor stickers) and THEN LIVE STAGE from New Zeland (don't know year) when he took 3rd place in Cordoba WRC.. :)
That was as you said 10 years ago ;)
Does anybody know what's going on with Piero Liatti? Such a great driver! :)
I think Liatti quit professional rally career a long time ago. The last time I saw his name in rally results was on Rallye du Valais a few years ago. Since then only silence... :(
Liatti drove a small rally or rallysprint in Italy in December 2008 with an Impreza WRC.
With a beautiful S5 Impreza :D
No one yet mentioned Rally Salento, valid for TRA and Italian IRC. The winner was (very convincing!!) Elwis Chentre with old P206 WRC, second was the legendary Franco Cunico (he disappointed me) with Focus WRC '07, third Pucco Grossi....Two important retairments: Felice Re and Paolo Porro!!
As all classified get double points, Chentre has now a strong lead in a TRA classification.
Elwis still showing his class in an 206 ;)
But I am still cheering for Paolo Porro ;)
I thought Chentre hasn't the budget for the European Rally Championship in a Citroën C2 R2 Max. That was his programm some months ago, but he drives rallies in a 206 WRC. Strange.
It depends on sponsors. Some don't need advertisemens abroad...
