While I am rooting for the USA.
I am rooting more against Mexico and Argentina.....!
1-1 now...
I'll watch the match, and then... it's White Sox Baseball on WGN. :p :
So why was the goal disallowed to Mexico when the SA player was on the goal line about 10 minutes in? We are discussing this at work and the sound was on mute so we didn't get to hear what the commentators said.
One of the advantages of being on night shift!
How come Mexico's first goal was called off side?
Didn't the South African player guarding the goal line not offset the offside?
I'm never too old to learn the rules.
Any body out there that can elucidate on this?

Just what we are discussing, one of the guys here played the game in his younger days and thought it should have been awarded, I always thought you had to have 2 oppossing players between you and the goal.Quote:

this is all useless ofcourse if the passing player is ahead of the player being passed to or anyone else he damnwell pleases, but that wasn't the case for today.
as for the rest of the match, i really enjoyed it and the vuvuzuelas weren't annoying at all. both teams can really play some good attacking football obviously, but seems suspect (especially south africa) in defence.
Tshabalala's goal was world class, from where he was, it was the perfect strike.
South Africa were robbed, there was a penalty vs Mexico  :p : but final result it's fair...
Thanks!Quote:
