I don't think Ogier is any better than JML for instance.

Watch the incar videos on wrc.com and both factory citroens are talking 0.5s off the fords from the start line to the first corner. Hardly incredible talent flooring a car off the startline

It is your imho nothing more.

1. IRC is very good series with good and fast drivers.
2. Loix is very fast and good driver.
3. Easy to blab "move to wrc car", but to what? To win WRC is possible with factory team only. There are three teams only so far. I don't want to talk about Stobart etc. VW future is unclear. So, how to move to WRC? Kill somebody from drivers?
I think there are a lot of reasons, whu teams has chosen drivers. And money behind the driver are not the last nuance.
Let's see VW. They looks vacant so far. But they have chosen to review Mikkelsen for Finland. But Hanninen beats Mikkelsen very easy.
So why not Hanninen?

There are a lot of think behind scene we will never know...

Don't forget JML is in WRC car since 2007 or so while for Ogier is only 3rd season. There have been few guys in both works cars for few seasons and they didn't get nowhere near Ogier or JML. So it's not only about flooring a car.

JML is in a WRC car since 2004 or 2005.

Nope Georges - Matthieu is the translation so we have an example of hugely amusing French humour in calling him Jean (or more likely, Jeanne :rolleyes :) -Marie. Oh, they are a barrel of laughs those Frenchies :o hplease:
