Do the modern studded tyres have any stud retention problems? I remember that as a problem in years gone by - if there was much wet tarmac for a stretch before the snow started, then many of the studs would be lost before the car got to the snow. Possibly a bigger problem on the second run when the studded tyres have done more miles?
