National Rally championships News

The first true rally event in Greece for 2012 will take place next week...

Its the rally sprint Thermaikos...so far the entries are below 20 (LOL) and the finish ceremony is arranged to take place at a local tavern (LOL LOL)...if it wasn't around 50 kms from my home i would stay home and watch my newly painted fence dry, since i think the level of excitement would be the same. But i think i will attend the event since the stage that is going to be used if one of the best in Greece plus the restaurants in the area are very nice...

It is near the road from Tesaloniki to Halkidiki isnt it?

I'm asking because I remember a road sign with that name (didnt have a gps nav and was staring thoroughly at every single one :) ) I was travelling to New Kali-kratia and New Potidea. Really quiet and nice for relaxing, huge and delicious meals in the taverns, warm sea with cold frappes.... ah I wish to be back there some day!

When you last visited ?

Thermaikos is the name of the gulf where my city (thessaloniki) is built... the sign you probably saw refers to the small municipality (it is an assortment of 3 communities) we have close to the city and it is indeed on the road leading to the mountain villages of Chalkidiki.

I was there in 2010, in the beginning of May.

It will be R3T, homologation + car were not ready for Jänner rallye, so they choose the scirocco for scoring in the 2WD championship.

Back to the danish rallies championship news: 2WD winner in 2011, Benny Pedersen, will use an original Peugeot 308 this season, first time this model will be seen in rallies !!! Mmmmh interesting :)

The car was built by the Danish Peugeot team a few years ago and has been used sporadically - mainly in rallysprints. So it is not a completely untested car. But with Benny Pedersen at the wheel we will really see how good the car is. Benny has regularly beaten 2 litre cars with his old Peugeot 106 1.6 during 2011 and it will be great to see him in the 308.

Rally finally cancelled due to only 13 entries... :(

yes, i had a chat with Anagnostakis yesterday and he said that even with 17 entries it would be ridiculous to run the event...

This year i think we are going to have more cancellations in the following events...

It is a pity because i went through the stage yesterday and it was a very nice scenery with 50cm of snow on the sides deep in the forest...

Final entry list for the Tank S Rally, opening round of the Dutch championship (next week).
Some really nice entries, Dennis Kuipers, Ten Brinke, van Loon, Van den Heuvel. Two Fiesta WRC's. :)
The other rounds will be good too because Van Loon, Ten Brinke, Swaanen (missing next week) and maybe Van Merksteijn will do the whole championship.

I think it is just because the Fiesta is a Stohl-car, and the 207 as well, WR-Cars are not permited to drive in ÖRM.....btw: Manfred Stohl dont think Oliveira can win: "if he can do the first SS without crash it would be a good start" :)

What I heard here is that he would start with the Fiesta in order to get to know the car and get a bit more experience with it. But, as was said by Adler, he can't use the WRC and maybe that's the reason he'll use the 207.

At this moment it seems the Eger Rally will be only one day. The start ceremony will be at 19:30 on 31.03.2012. The place will be at Dobó tér in Eger. GPS: N47 54.163 E20 22.629
The race day will be next day 01.04.2012 with 9 special stages.
SS1/3/6 - Szarvaskő-Egerbocs (7km)
SS2/5/8 - Tarnaszentmária - Egerszalók (13km)
SS4/7/9 - Pétervásári elég - Sirok (25km)

how do you think jeram will get on against the others in r2 class?
