Great Bear, Great Slave, Lake Winnipeg
Thought you would probably get it Mark.
Your question.
As an aside the only 'Great Lake' not shared is Lake Michigan totally in the US.
I think Mark is on the road for several days so I am taking the liberty of another set of questions. They are all water related.
1 What is the Great Circle Cruise for pleasure boats?
I do not expect details but naming some of the bodies of water would be a bonus. There are several possibilities on parts of the cruise. Those who have done it are entitled to fly a special flag.
2a What is the largest freshwater island in the world?
2b In what body of water is it located?
3a In what freshwater body of water is the Sleeping Giant located?
3b What is the closest town or city?
4a In what freshwater body of water is the Giant's Tomb located.
4b What is the closest town or city?
I will take either of 2 answers as correct for 4b.
Both 'Giants' are islands.
I hope this is more difficult than the last one.
Hi All. I am back after spending a few months on the Dark Continent.
Almost forgot about this thread.
Easy Drifter-a little friendly advice.. You're not going to get many responses with questions so closely associated with your home area....this is a global forum. It's like asking someone from Australia or S Africa who their favorite character is on Corner Gas...they'll just scratch their heads and look at you funny. As for your questions, having friends and family in your area, I'll take a shot:
1- Great Circle cruise is either a navigation of the American inland waterway system, but more likely a cruise of lakes and canals in S Ontario.
2- Has to be Manitoulin, in Lake Huron. A friend has a cottage there where you can see an island in a lake which is on a island which is in a lake.
3- The Sleeping giant is in Lake Superior near Thunder Bay
4- Giant's Tomb is near Penatanguishine in Georgian Bay
2,3 and 4 are correct.
1 is pretty close.
Starting point can be anywhere on route.
I will use NYC as start. Up Hudson River, Erie Canal, Lake Ontario, Trent Severn, Georgian Bay/Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Chicago Ship Canal, Mississipi System, Alternate routes to Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic to NYC. There are several palces where alternate routes can be used.
Does not have to be done in one year.
Your turn.
If I do ask another question later it will be in Canada but far removed from this area.
I took a introductry weather observers course once...and I cant think of anything concrete...but I will guess....Quote:
