I think that its success is dependent on attracting many exicting events around the world. I hope the lack of events does not lead to the WRc's downfall.
Here is the story:

What you mean with lack of events? Okey, 12 is less than 16 we had a couple of years back, but it still is enough - and with Abu Dhabi, Mexico, New Zealand and Argentina on the calender it hardly is European-only WRC. To me the proposed calendar looks fine. Any calendar with NZ on it should be considered interesting.Quote:

Yes I notice it too. Sorry to be off topic, but by my chance of buying any Nokia in the future is next to nil. They're used to be an open source company, but recently had a Microsoft exec as their CEO and made a deal with Microsoft to make Windows Phone 7 phones and also considering close sourcing Symbian. Also seem to have dropped their Maemo/Meego development. Doesn't seem promising ahead.Quote:

Are the banners supplied by Rally Jordan or the WRC?
If they are a local sponsor they will still be on the stages, with no commitment to the WRC
There's no local logo on jordanrally.com... so, maybe it's like Delphi in Portugal.Quote:

Apple would be better! haha
Probably Nokia because they're Finnish! :D
Some good news coming from chris atkinson about his wrc future.Would think the car in question would probably be the mini wrc.
Hi All,
Firstly apologies I haven't been in contact for a while, as usual my team and I have been working our butts off trying to chase a route back into the WRC. Things are looking a lot more promising than 12 months ago but I don't want to jinks anything as we're still trying to put a decent deal together... Hopefully for some events this year but I guess time will tell which is kinda frustrating! Will certainly keep you all posted!
Anyway I finally broke a pretty big drought by taking victory in Malaysia a couple of weeks ago with Proton. That was a pretty cool feeling to be back in the winners circle and especially against a decent field with the likes of Alister McRae, Mark Higgins and Cody Crocker in the mix! Plus we won for a Malaysian manufacturer in Malaysia so you can imagine how crazy the fans went!
So I'm getting right into the social side of the media now.. hooked up a twitter account (@ChrisAtko) and a new Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/AtkoWRC if you want to check um' out!!
Any questions or stuff you want to ask just fire me a post on the new FB page guys! Getting onto the Autograph Cards too for all of you who have requested them.
Take it easy legends,
Atko
Why would it be a Mini?
Would be good to see atkinson back in WRC
Atko in a Mini because 1) He has the links with Prodrive 2) 4x4 Mini probably has a market niche in Australia 3) Ford in Australia tends to go for the V8s for marketing and other non-rally sports. $) Some Aussies have the means to purchase a new car.Quote:

You, sir, have good taste.Quote:

If he does get to wrc it will be a 1 off thing as all the decent cars will be going to the Oliveria's of the world who have deeper pockets; which DR desperately needs.Quote:
