There is a new Beetle due out next year. I think its off a different platform to the Polo which is thought to be the preferrd choice. Beetle shares a platform with Audi A3, also due a re-vamp.Quote:

Audi has confirmed that they will go ahead with Quattro A1.
Just remembered how we were spittin' on Anthony Warmbold some years ago when McRae, Sainz, Rovanpera, Martin, Gronholm, etc. were active.. Today there's much more Warbolds in the sport and nobody spits on them. Where is that guy these days?
Dani Sordo's practising with bmw..

How can you say nobody spits on the Warmbolds of today? Wilson, Räikkönen, Al Qassimi, Van Merksteijns et al have definitely got their warm share of verbal abuse.Quote:

Thank you.
+1, agree and now reported, that's what I call evolution.

He's driving Austrian championship these days.
Now he's working on conversion of 207 S2000 to electric powered rally car...
Wow he is a busy man then. I do miss seeing him around although hopefully sometime soon there is a possibility we will spot him once again...
OMV quit sponsorships on WRC and that's his main sponsor.
Gigi to drive Ford Fiesta WRC
http://bit.ly/esCKR0
My Italian isn't very good at all, I think it says he might compete in Italy? Could be an April foolsfor all I know
Awaken.
After almost three years to stop, for Gigi Galli 's time may finally be the great comeback in the world of rally. It is rumored, in fact, that the G Sports Car of George Molinaro is doing everything possible to bring Italy in a Ford Fiesta RS WRC to be given to the fastest driver from Livigno.
Currently there are no official confirmation. In fact, originally there was talk of a possible debut at the Rally of Sardinia, Italy, eventuality, however, ruled out a priori view of the limited time. In any case it seems that the project is going forward with the desire to be serious all the stakeholders.
Even Malcolm Wilson , in fact, would be thrilled to be able to provide a vehicle for Galli , remembering the good things that the Italian driver managed to do in 2008 with the Ford Focus WRC run by Stobart , before obtaining the fracture of the femur with an accident in Germany.
Still remember his 3th place in Sweden 2008..
it would be so cool if he would come back!
Nice to see Gigi again, a true show driver.

I think Gigi has lost his chances in previous years. In some things he is like Duval. Consumptioned big talent...
He can still drive.
Agreed, fingers crossed they can get a drive sorted!
