Depends. If the drive doesn't require the driver to bring finance, then many drivers will be interested, as its the best they can achieve.

Please excuse my ignorance but Beaumont is not a driver I'm familiar with. What has he raced in?
He raced in the BTCC in 2001 in a Honda Integra.

Notice, the word MANUFACTURER does not appear in this statement!Quote:

1 of 3 - take your pick
TD - Are Halfords still are kinda linked to AA (workshops etc) would make sense
Kartworld - Rumours at Seat or Alfa's
Pinkey's New Team - some are very confident that they will have S2000 cars
My Money is on TD..... but I just have this feeling about Kartworld.
Am I anywhere near?
im gonna go with one guess for this aa team:
arena motorsport with bmws
I am categorically stating that Adam will not be racing with Xero,He told me himself,it doesn't have to be in a magazine to be true! He has been talking to Encke, but they where not the BTCC team mentioned on his web site.At the moment he has had an offer that is overwhelmingly better that any of the others, but needs more money than he has at the moment.so first priority is to raise that money. If that can't be done then he has the other options to go to.one way or another he will be racing in 2007 but it won't be with XeroQuote:

I'd say either Arena's BMW's or Pinkneys new team... would make sense if they have a major sponsor that they could finance setting up a new team for the season.
Good to add to the list, that we now have Mark Smith in his Alfa & Gareth Howell at Motorbase
I say Arena BMWs. The battle of the recovery team BMWs
excues me if this has already been metioned, but has anything else been said about the team clyde vally chevvy's or has that die'd a death??

Neil, can you give me a call!
Arena did have plans back in November to enter the BTCC with a pair of 2006-spec BMWs. It was in both Motorsport News and Autosport. I haven't heard anything about it since, thus I presume its not going ahead.
So an AA backed car, most likely not a manufacturer entry.
Not Arena, WSR or Motorbase(?).
Don't think it will be Pinkney. I believe he works/worked for RAC Warranty (hence it appearing on his cars in the past) - would be a bit of conflict of interest.
Possibly the AA deal is with Kartworld? Funding the 2 Super 2000 SEATs they plan to run? AA would tie in nicely with the yellow SEAT livery.
And before anyone starts, I'm merely guessing/speculating
Looks like Marsh and Pinkney will be driving alfas backed by the AA if I've read tbd's comments correctly..
I seem to remember the RAC logos dissapearing off Pinkey's car half way through last season, so maybe this link is no longer there?Quote:

So I would image the sponsorship would be for 'AA Warranty', not 'The AA'.
Just imagine the colours of the cars! Yellow, Red and Pink!
Yellow for AA.
Red for Alfa Romeo.
And Pink for, well we all know that one!
That has the potential to be the worst livery in BTCC history.
no one gunna put a list together its battering my head
Ok
Confirmed
Triple Eight - Vauxhall Vectra - 2 cars - Fabrizio Giovanardi & Tom Chilton
Northern South - SEAT Leon - 2 cars - Jason Plato & Darren Turner
Team Dynamics - Honda Civic - 2 cars - Matt Neal & Gordon Shedden
West Surrey Racing - BMW 320is E90 - 2 cars - Colin Turkington & Dan Eaves (probabily)
Motorbase Performance - SEAT Toledo Cupra - 2/3 cars - Tom Ferrier, Gareth Howell & TBA
Kartworld Racing - SEAT Leon? - 2 cars - Jason Hughes & Paul Bird
Pinkney Racing - Alfa Romeo 156 - 2 cars - David Pinkney & Richard Marsh
Geoff Steel Racing - BMW 320i E46 - 1 car - Martyn Bell
West Suffolk Racing - BMW 120d - 1/2 cars - Rick Kerry & TBA
Infront Motorsport - Alfa Romeo 156 - 1 car - Mark Smith
Xero Competition - Lexus IS200 - 2 cars - Mark Jones & TBA
TH Motorsport - Honda Integra DC05 - 1 car - John George
Team Eurotech - Honda Integra DC05 - 1 car - Mike Jordan

Daniels Motorsport - Vauxhall Astra Coupe - 1 car - Nick Leason (plan was last 2 races of 06 and then full 07)

Thats not exactly huge news though is it? So its not the AA its just Pinkney sponsoring himself, basically?Quote:

Suppose so. The list I posted was of those who have firm stated intentions to enter, and evidence that they will appear.
Those were not my words!Quote:

If you're going to put Xero Competition in, then BTC Racing with their Lexus IS200 driven by Chris Stockton should be there too. Quest Racing with Eoin Murray and his Alfa have also stated a firm intention to enter, they've also stated a firm intention to get sponsorsed.Quote:
