Probably Toyota will push him to do it as long as he has a realistic chance to the title

Maybe Hyundai should really consider snatching Adrien for a third driver. They absolutely need a consistent driver and right now, he is among the best one for that role. M-Sport should be okay with Sesks knocking on the door.
Ogier winning 9th title while complaining like accountant doing overtime would be funny.
He is playing mind games, we all know, the whole world of rallying knows that. The team doesn't need to ask him to do that, because obviously he has a chance and he will go for it. He just said like that, that it seems like he wants to mess with some heads. Neuville clearly doesn't expect to be that easy.
The WRC championship is a dying discipline because no new manufactures are attracted to it compared with such flourishing championships like WEC and F1. A true shame because they are litterally driving to survive and a shoe-in for Netflix/Amazon.
If a part-time driver like Ogier is still a favorite to win WRC 2024 then something is verry wrong about this wonderful action sport.
Nah, I feel Toyota are about to waive Rovanpera off till Japan and push Ogier to do the whole championship, which he isn't very happy with regardless of his title chances.
More like in WRC drivers are more likely to crash or suffer from road changes due to cleaning or rain. If you add 5 extra drivers, things like road cleaning or "stealing" points would be even worse.
Also remember that Loeb won championship as a "part timers" due to injury as well.
I wouldn't write off some Stellantis involvement in some form in 2027. They are looking closely at what the regs will be. Maybe a clue is the latest Lancia Rally4 project and commitment this year for that old C3 in WRC2. Ford will commit fully too if they hit that spot,... we should cross our fingers for Skoda, they have been in the WRC2 for a long time and it's time they try the top spot. Even Hyundai (if they are not lying) will stay if someone new enters.
The department of promotion is working really hard, and maybe in the next two years, the investment and return will be worth it. So if the regs will be right, some new names might come by.
Ogier turns up to every round + Ogier says "oh, I don't know, maybe I'll do every round, maybe not" = Ogier plays mind games. Or he thinks it's cool to sound mysterious. Toyota does not decide for a driver like Ogier, at best they can ask, it's Ogier who decides.
I don't believe that for a second. Ogier even already said that if the circumstances are right, he'll go for the title.
I think it's time everyone stopped calling Ogier a 'part-time' driver.
It's quite clear and obvious he's going for the title and doing every event.
He just doesn't want to admit it because it can make him look a bit silly for him saying he was part-time and criticism of the points system, that he's now part of....
Absolutely shocking. There is no doubt, Toyota got beaten at its own ground due to luck of sporting management.
How come Evans, their lead driver is being left alone and has to fight with his teammates to salvage his weekend wich was probably a contributing factor to his crash. How come Kalle was allowed to be so fast today taking points from their leading driver. The result is that Hyundai is leaving Finland with 20 points lead and now probably Ogier has to step in to salvage their drivers campaign.
That's how you end up when you are lucking a clear leadership.
It's good for him to stick to the story, rather than saying options in his contract are being triggered by Toyota because he's got ineffectual team mates.
You can tell from this article he's really motivated to get that 9th and be level with Loeb means a lot to him: https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/point...of-the-season/ Sure, sure sure sur su
A contract is a piece of scrap paper for Ogier. If he wants to do the rest of the season, he will. If he doesn't want to do it, he won't. What is Toyota going to do, fire him? Yeah, right.
He will do it, because he wants to go for another title, as the conditions are right and as he already stated. It's clear since quite some rallyes.

The argument was that Ogier fighting for title without starting in all rounds is something new due to lack of competition.
Loeb won the championship while not driving all rounds decade and a half ago. So nothing new. Both Loeb and Ogier are great drives which is the main reason they can achieve this.
Arguing how it happened is pointless in this context.

What an amazing event this is!
Neuville and Fourmaux not too far off putting their name on a certain stone in Ouninpohja!

That's like saying Panizzi was better than Gronholm in 2000, because Gilles won TdC and Marcus didn't...
As I said already before, the titles are often overlooked. Even if he is doing great at the moment, Toyota chose Pajari, and M-Sport/promoter chose Sesks for ''wildcar'' outing. He left Hyundai on bad terms, as long as I know. So there's quite little chance he will be given another shot. Toyota has also a program with the next generation Japanese drivers, so that means one spot will always be one of them. Realistically he will be on the grid at some point in the future, but probably not as soon as next year.
I respect it and that's great for our sport but thay don't need to make controversial decisions like swapping or so, today it would be enough to jus slow lead drivers a bit to give Evans a better chance in tough time. Even for the tone of his voice you can hear thar he is a bit disappointed that he is not getting any help.
Ogier did say once this year, that why would he help someone. That he is here to win where he can. Especially at the point, he knew he would go for the title.
And what if Kalle did think about that possibility too, until his off here in Finland. That he actually can challenge for the title. In the end, everyone who is practically one of the best is doing everything for themself, it's a bit selfish, if you ask me, but that is how the sport always works.
''His help'' would be worth nothing if he would bin it anyway.
