Carlos Sainz's nightmare isn't over yet. The Peugeot driver had to stop at km 213 due to a broken strut between the engine and the gearbox, and he is now waiting for his assistance crew to get back into the race.
According to French tele, it has been very hot between Peterhansel and the organizers. It looks like what did Peter is ok due to a failure in the regulation, but ASO doesn't like it.

Top 5 today at the end of a stage that was among the most difficult of the Dakar. In itself this is not a bad result but the day was not easy. It was a little lost at first, like everyone else because there was a mistake in the road book. After we have two flat tires and we ensable once following an engine failure. We also did a barrel top of a dune after a sudden racket ... It was a bit of survival for us but finally we finished fifth. So we will make the positive and we hope a more rolling step tomorrow to take a little more fun. Congratulations to Peugeot Sport which signs doubled. I'm just disappointed for Carlos who was hard on this Dakar.
