R5 are limited to 7500 rpm for durability reasons.Quote:

Yeah its just a concept but that version with it's flared wheelarches shows how it could look. I didn't think it would be too big - it's based on the Polo/Fabia etc platform just stretched a bit. The other thing is as there hasn't been any official announcement from Skoda we don't know with any certainty what they're doing regarding their R5 car...Quote:

Rapid is almost as long as Octavia WRC, longer than Evo X or Impreza STI. No way it could be suitable for building R5.
Ahhhh would have been nice to see though.
Is the next Fabia going to look something like this?
If it does that will look fantastic as an R5
I don't know how it will look like but it may be quite similar to this photoshop.
The new Fabia road car will be lower and wider than the current model and will have a front end similar to that at least.
That's good, too many cars these days are tall and narrow (like the Fiesta) but still look great as rally cars with flared arches. Lets hope the new Fabia will look even better than anything else out there in R5 form :DQuote:

The engine doesn't sound quite adjusted yet
Can You elaborate Your thoughts?
Well, it interrupts quite often on low revs, that's what bugged me
Some people says new Fabia III will be just Rapid in hatchback version. (same front lights, same mask)
That's not true at all.Quote:

Yes, usual test area in Alsace region I think.Quote:

The sound is very promising :) Cant wait for this and the Fiesta to invade the stages
I just hope the British Championship adopts them - the BRC would be worth watching again!
I love the car! Great look, great sound, enough power for spectacle and that's present already in the very start of the R5 days. Can't wait to see it live! :)
Very nice package. :) Looks sexy as hell, great sound and seems very dynamic.
Wooooow, the 208 sounds like a real competition car. Rare with turbo, looks like they have gotten close with the R5 specs.
Any film of the Skoda R5 mule yet?
Smart of Skoda to start testing now, the long test periode was a huge success for the s2000 Fabia!
Accelereation out of tight corners seems very poor to me, maybe on par with atm. S2000s from 2010. Sure it is mapped conservatively for extended tests and will be improved in future, but now I am unsure would it reach RRC performance.
Sound reminds me of the early Octavia WRC, especially on acceleration. Looks like a neat package
yes it seems to me too that has a lack of torque out of slow corners, but is very early and dont forget the absence of antilag in a small motor.Sound and looks are brilliant!Quote:

That's definitely true. Is ALS forbidden by the rules or only is not present yet? I know there were talks about some "green" steps in regulation and banning anti-lag is sure the most logical step in that way (I don't say I like it).Quote:

dont know but i wouldn t like to be forbidden.Helps a lot.Quote:
