Yeah David Croft mentioned something about "recording for the new game" on Twitter the other day, assume that's for the 'reporter' bits that he does.Quote:

(A) 'Yeah, he's a great driver. I'm inspired by him.'
(B) 'No, I am focussing on my own race'
(C) 'I was having a sh!t'
I'm not going to pre-order F1 2011 like I did with F1 2010. This time I'm going to wait AT LEAST a month before even thinking of buying this. If it has the same amount of bugs as F1 2010, then it would be money wasted.
I think inevitably with these sorts of games where you get a 2010, 2011, 2012 version unless the studio is intent on getting it right first time the it's not worth buying as you always get something half baked and it's only worth playing just before the new version comes out.Quote:

Anyway, game is fun, just getting the hang of it and still using a few assists but tonight I'll start testing with fewer assists to see how it goes.
Also using a gamepad and not a wheel yet
cheers
Well online racing isn't all that great in this game anymore. Too many people just ram each other off the track, and I was also finding that everyone was finding "magic" setups and suddenly you were 4sec a lap off the pace and there is nothing fun about running around on your own. In short, lots of nonsense in this game has put a lot of people off of online racing.
I know what you mean about the banger racing, some people just dont bother to stop for corners or go for over takes from miles back! The best thing ive found to do is to move out the way at the start and let everyone pile into the first corner and make up places that way without being wiped out.
Dont get me started on Forza 3 though, online on that winds me right up!
Custom Grand Prix are cleaner than the Quick Races.
codemaster f1 2010 is a pretty awesome game thats for sure. However I would seriously think about getting some mods for it off of racedepartment, some of them are really quite amazing and offer big improvements on original - even have 2011 and 2009 conversions. It is a bit weird though how it seems a lot easier in a quick race than in career mode... but hey, still good to play - but shift 2 is taking me away for a bit ;)
I thought I was a good driver but I kept spinning out on slow corners. Then when I just picked up the game again, somewhere in the past few months I've learned to be smooth on acceleration. Still don't want to bump it up to legend even though I'm occasionally scoring points in a Virgin, because if I do and it rains I'm still screwed probably. So I'm just living the fantasy of being a superb F1 driver capable of stunning drives in backmarker cars lol. I figure by the time I get into a McLaren or something I'll treat the game leisurly and enjoy winning a WDC.
I haven't touched the game in weeks. I find the annoying pit stop bug makes it unplayable. Waiting to see if the upcoming 2011 release will have resolved that bug, along with a host of others.
A patch was released to cure the pit stop bug last october.Quote:

I try to pit a lap later too, but it doesn't always seem to help. The lolipop man still holds me :s

Waiting for the new game though, seems like they are adding a lot of things, including safety car, split screen, drs, kers, multiplayer co-op etc.
I'm on Xbox. You need to log into Xbox live for the patch.Quote:

Strange. One other way to get around the pit stop bug is to do longer races or do your strategy in reverse to the norm i.e start on primes and change to options.Quote:

I think they talked about in PAX in one of the interview or maybe E3 I cant remember, but its a definite addition, if you can find one of their dev talk video's, I'm sure you'll find it there + the part I highlighted ^ :)Quote:

So far that Stephen Hood guy says the game AI and handling has improved tremendously, so that can mean only good things. Although I'll be patient and take everything with a pinch of salt. They said a lot of goody-goody stuff last year to hype F1 2010, and then released a heavily bugged game.Quote:

So, F1 2011 comes out tomorrow. I'm pre-loaded and ready to rock. Who's with me?? I'll be starting up a Co-op Championship with my buddy. Looking forward to it.

I have it preloaded too, I'll add you once I'm home, and I have to find someone for co-op :)Quote:

First impressions are that the game looks much better, high resolution textures do most of that. I could feel the car more and anticipate spins better, the cars are much harder to push, my wheel (G27) settings were completely off from the 2010 settings. The values have changed considerably for the wheel, and I still haven't found the best settings yet. With the DRS and Kers the game is much more fun, and if I used the DRS any more then a straight it would do the same thing as in life, I accidentally tried taking the eau rouge with DRS and landed up in the barriers :)
I have it on PC and with everything cranked up my system wasn't getting the framerates I was expecting, I have 2 6950's (unlocked) in crossfire for 1920x1200, but the fps was around 30-40 mark, so the drivers aren't optimized as yet.
Here's a preview from one of the lucky ones:
F1 2011 Preview - Singapore - YouTube
I think I'm feeling.....sick.....cough....cough. Man, I wanna go home right now.
Guys are saying the car is much more alive and you do a Maldonado if you hit the DRS in the middle of the turn, so it's encouraging. Setups are about the same. We get a fuel mixture button this time around. I have a dial on my Logitech DFGT just waiting for it :)
Looks great, thanks for the opinions guys.
looks good
will probably get it in the next week or so
Have they added a proper replay system that look like a TV replay and inboards for 2011?
have they added a race save or lap save function that can export properly?
Got it. Won Malaysia in a Williams. Stoked as hell already with this. I just wish they would have bonus cars from different eras of the sport as rewards.
No & No, from what I have seen so far, but the car itself seems much more on the edge, its much harder to push the car. I drove a F2000 a couple weeks back, and I felt a lot of similarity in how delicate the cars feel in reality and in this game.Quote:

Unfortunately in F1 2011 people are finding tons of bugs and the laps times are way off from real life again. :( I guess they care more about making money off F1 than quality. Dont get me wrong, still a cool game, but just a slap in the face that they continue releasing games riddled with bugs etc.
