This is the right right result for alll Punto bashers. We see this car is not that bad than many people think it is. Go on Fiat.

What happened with Ucci on last stage?
And also a great result for one of greatest talents from Italy, Andrea Crugnola. Only slightly behind Campedelli and much faster than Torlasco and Albertini.
Only a very good driver is able to "cancel" the small difference between top s2000 cars (p207, fabia) and Punto... and Rox is one of them :-) The rest will still say that the car is not as fast as the driver :-)Quote:

Before the ultimate stage this year Tarabus in the Fiesta was again 1min 44 secs behind Kresta in the 207.Quote:

Tarabus's Fiesta is way faster than the Punto. Just ask him and he will tell You. The reason why there was almost same gap is mostly in much harder road conditions this year and also because Kresta's car was meanwhile reasonably upgraded.
Problem of Punto is that it is old design which is slow anywhere else than on mediteranean type twisty roads on which it was born. It has weak engine with not enough torque, old-style suspension with very small suspesnion travel (especially compared to Fiesta or Fabia) or Öhlins shock absorbers which are not that good as Reiger.
Basso and Rossetti are able of some results with Punto only because they are exceptional drivers. If Punto was good someone would still use it but most of them are sold for low prices and almost noone use it outside Italy.
No problem :confused:Quote:

Who knows, maybe you are right, but don't you think that there must be some good reason why good drivers choose different cars than Fiat?Quote:
