I have a feeling those WRC17 cars are too fast and too hard to handle. Could end up in a fatal crash and new regulations in 18. Dont like the widen either. How will it track on second run in gravel and snow/ice events?

How is that better for the sport? Do they have their heads in the sand? The current cars are faster than Gp B - so what? The sport lacks spectacle - these cars won't help bring more interest to the sport.
It seems like they've seen the success of WorldRX - and have panicked - and decided they must have cars similar to a WorldRX car.
I hope I'm wrong, but I fear they gone in the wrong direction with car regs - again!
Is this car a 2015/16 Polo with new aerodynamic parts on it, or is this close to what we can expect for 2017? Particularly sound/speed wise? Ive not been keeping a track of how far advanced VW are with their new car

I would think it will look slightly different because I read somewhere VW is supposed to release a new Polo in 2017.
kevinabbringHitting the tarmac for the first time with our #NGi20R5 today after some more gravel testing over the past few days. Cool stuff!

any problems? any comments?
To me, it was more like the old Portugal. ;)
I didn't find any problem. The stage was quite long, with many surfaces. It's true that some parts had too many (big) stones and others were too soft (mainly the one below), but as you said it's quite similar to what they will find in Argentina and also Portugal in the North. I don't know how many runs Neuville & Gilsoul did (I wasn't there when they began to drive), but the test followed the usual timetable (percentage of runs and stops) and attitudes of these events, including marshalls asking us about not taking photos or being near the car while the mechanics were working on it.

Dani Sordo:

Sordo's test took place in the same spot as yesterday. The team repaired the surface before starting and an interesting fact is that they watered some parts of the stage, for example the soft zone that I photographed yesterday.
