Croatia (ex Yugo) have always produced good players. Not that they are clean and non egositic or anything (Rebic/Mandzukic do plenty of that stuff)
98 team was really good and got to SF as well, I can see this team doing the same atleast.
Also seeing Messi hapless like this in a blue+white shirt just only puts in contrast the enormous contribution of Xavi, Iniesta, Alves, Alba et al in his undoubtedly amazing goal-scoring talent.

My sympathies to Senegal. It's harsh to go out on the number of yellow cards given the varying attitudes of refereeing. I think it would be better to have a play-off and resolve the issue on the pitch.
^yeah, refs are notoriously inconsistent
play-off might take too much time/money/energy to organize but they do need to do something like maybe "away" goals in the CL
Japan apparently played legally but very much against the spirit of the game by waiting for Colombia to win and not try anything themselves.

Russia came to defend which they did. I accept that gameplan when you are so short on talent and this is the WC afterall - not a CL group stage like when a Chelsea or a Mourinho team which does it in every game they ever play an attacking and talented team.
Also Koke was poor all game, Hierro not switching him or Busquets out for Rodrygo/Aspas much earlier and try to force the matter is what doomed them.
