Thanks Americo,
I think in ERC'86 callendar you lost 6th Semperit Rallye 7-8.11. and it was 13th Rallye du Condroz.
Back to our discussion on ä = ae. Yes you are right. It is common replacement for those special marks especially in countries which doesn't have those marks in their alphabets... Germans use those marks and it would be strange when in te same dokument author uses special marks and suddenly in one name he doesn't. It was why I asked German-speaking for help. Nobody answered yet...

Thanks so much sednem and januszsz!!!!
The Swedish Rally was given ERC status when it stopped counting for the Manufacturer's championship in 1980 (like 1000 Lakes). Originally for 1985 the Swedish was supposed to count for the World Championship for Drivers, as well as the ERC, but because of the uncertainties surrounding the Rallye Monte Carlo for that year, it was decided to include the Swedish in the Manufacturer's world championship as well. I think (but I'm not 100% certain) that was why the rally did not count for the ERC in the end.Quote:

As we have some letters in German which are not used in foreign languages - especially English - they are usually translated as follows (whenever there is no German keyboard around):
ä = ae
ö = oe
ü = ue
ß = ss
So Wiltraud Bärdges (she by the way is since years married to former rally driver Dietrich Kissel) would appear as Wiltraud Baerdges on any international result.
Thank you Oppositelock.
That translation of special letters is clear and well known.
The problem is that in a German text his Author used all those umlauts for all names but he wrote Baerdges not Bärdges,

Janusz
In Scharnagl's (German language) annual Rallye Jahrbuch 1984/85 the names are given as Blome/Bärdges in the results section.
The Limburgia Rally took place in 1984, on 25 August. It was centered around the Dutch village of Maasbracht, and won by Jan van der Marel and Anja Beltzer with an Opel Manta 400. It was only a round of the Dutch Championship, not of the ERC (I doubt it reached the minimum stage distance for an ERC event with a total stage time of 69 minutes for the winner).Quote:
