The Scalextric models really are top notch these days as has been said. The Leon's a tough cookie as well, it kept breaking my TVR Tuscan last summer during our Le Mans marathon. :p :
So can I assume Oxford Diecasts got awarded the official rights to produce it? They beat out Minichamps, Spark, etc...
Or is this an unofficial model?
I don't really care that much. it's nice to be able to buy a 1/43 S2000 Vectra! If they can produce a Vectra, now why not the Accord, S60, etc...
Another one has gone now.Quote:

It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but if you look closely they have modelled the Hatch, but they've made the notch bit at the back too long. It doesn't help either that the wing is too small.
I have been trying to convert some models to cars that weren't made, soem went well others not so!
Converted a Minichamps STW Audi to the 1996 Biela. (this one looks good as I had a spare BBR decal set)
ONYX 1999 Spence Laguna to the Will Hoy car. (very easy as all that needed changing was the name as he ran with the same number, had a spare name set from an old Formule kit I had)
Racing Replicas 1994 Mondeo of Burt to Robb Gravett (poor condition model to start with but looks OK but obvious where the changes were as the replacement decals are white and the model was an off white)
Vanguard Rally Dolomite to Tont Dron 77 car (major problems as the decal set was quite old and some of the decals flaked when applying, even with extra solution on them. Something different though).
Still got too many kits to make and trying to get hold of another Cecotto Goldeneye BMW to change it to the Brabham car as I've managed to pick up a spare decal set (easier than starting the BBR kit!)
I managed to pick up the 88 Sierra set for £20 at the GPL warehouse sale yesterday. In theory it has a damaged box, but the damage is so tiny it's barely visible. Although it's a nice set, I'm glad I didn't have to pay £56 for it as the quality is no where near Minichamps standard. Very nice for £20 though. :D
Don't forget Will Hoy's name would not have been white!Quote:

Thanks but in 99 it was the numbers that were different not the names. Here's your picture I used to ensure I did it right!

But if you look closely. The privateers in 99 had a blue outline around their names!Quote:

Wonder if they will do BTCC versions? Wouldn't even need to change colour!
Anyone seen this?

Not one for AlfaFan's collection!
Thats an Autoart model. Looks like a one off commission rather than a proper release sadly. I'd probabily try and covert it to a Steven Kane version.
Thanks, do you know if anyone made the 323f's?Quote:

Just looking on Oxford Diecast's website, looks like both the 2007 and 2008 Vectra's will be out in August now :( But they now have a picture of the Tom Onslow Cole's 2008 Car, so looks like they might will be doing all 3 cars from this year. Can't wait!
TOC 2008 Vectra:

From what I can work out from their site, the 2007 Vectra of Giovanardi is out this month, and the the 3 VXR 2008 models are out in August.
I was hoping they were going to improve that rear wing before release, but it doesn't look like they have. :(Quote:

I just thought I would mention that on the trax website there were Ford Sierras of Rob Gravett 1990 BTCC champion car 30 quid. Also Andy Rouse Ford Cosworth 1987 and 1989 from Silverstone made by Trofeu. Also SEAT Leons are being made from 2006 WTCC so hopefully BTCC models will be made in the short term future
I have the Patrick Watts car by Formule Models. Not got round to making it yet if anyone is interested in the kit?Quote:

Just had email confirmation from Oxford for my order being processed, so hopefully should have the model by the end of the week.
I also see Grand Prix Legends still have it as a pre-order @ 14.99, whereas Oxford have it to buy now and for only £9.99 plus £2.95 postage. I think GPL do a price match if anyone has pre-ordered from there.
dont know on release dates also one of Mat Jackson's sponsors is looking at getting Mat's beemer done as a limited edition. spoke to the marketing guv'nor in February and they are looking at doing more BTCC/WTCC cars so that probably means beemers and seatsQuote:

It doesn't make it clear on the site.
If anyone has ordered the Giovanardi car from GPL at 14.99, when the RRP is now 9.95, e-mail them and they will reduce the price they charge you.
Postage was £2.95 with my order.Quote:

To be honest it would be a hell of alot easier to make Jacksons car because It is just 4 streaks and two numbers. lol
I think the quaility of Oxford diecast is pretty poor. As much as I want recent BTCC cars I just can't justify buying such poor quality models when there is no need for them to be so bad.
Let's just hope Spark or Minichamps take up some more BTCC cars. I would like Adam Jones's Leon to be made.
see my post above you should see a Scalextric Mat Jackson car, you will soon be able to have mat beating colin on your living room floorQuote:

It does look good, other than the rear wing which still looks way too small, it's a shame they couldn't have got this right as it makes the rear end look completely wrong.
