Could have been a great fight Rovanpera vs Neuville, or Rovanpera vs Tanak had Ott managed to recover more. Now it's over, apart from mistakes / problems. Only battle left should be Breen vs Neuville for 3rd spot.
For sure it's more tricky in terms of accident response and spectator management in thick fog. I guess that might be a bigger issue than the drivers thinking it's dangerous.
I agree. Maybe early to say but he seems to have matured. But I think his biggest weapon is still Toyota's better reliability compared to Hyundai. I could see Neuville and Tanak challenging him on speed, but not when Hyundai keeps having problems.
Meanwhile, Breen is not good enough yet and Evans seems lost.
Nothing about tyres on the canceling decision. It's just you who says the stage was canceled because of lack of rain tyres. Not true. The COC decision says stage was canceled because of thick fog. Kaj Lindström was interviewed on Finnish TV saying he had seen a photo from Michele Mouton's safety car and they couldn't see beyond the dashboard. Lindström said "it was the only choice to cancel the stage" It's not just the drivers' safety in question, also the numerous spectators'.
I think he's learnt a lot from the 2020-2021 seasons with Ogier, learned how finish rallies even when they don't go his way, and now he's close to winning on all three surfaces, if it weren't for Hyundai's troubled car I'd say Neuville would have a chance due to his experience but it seems that with every rally now, Rovanperä learns how to lead and control this championship. As for Breen, he still needs to get that full season under his belt, after 4 years of not doing half of the events on the calendar (& we don't even have Mexico this year which he's never been too). Evans like you said seems lost, even Lappi managed to find more pace (yes I know, road position but still), and it's only his first time on Tarmac with this car.
Fourmaux crash was a big one.

In detail I'm not so familiar with the hole tyre regulations. What if there's rain the whole weekend and fully wet conditions, from shakedown to the power stage and no stage gets canceled because of fog like today. I have read that there are just 8 rain tyres for the whole weekend.
Is it possible for the FIA stewards to allow more rain tyres during the rally when they were needed for safety reasons? i mean no extra tyre fitting zones like in sweden 2020 - just a new amount of rain tyres for the teams that they can use with the regular 8 rain tyres. would this work logistically for the tyre manufacturer? or have the teams to deal with 8 rain tyres and the other tyres and cross it on some stages, like some drivers did today at platak 1 stage, and/or going on full wet tyres for the other stages of the whole rally.
