Today it would have been sensible to only run PS STAGE twice.
Let them correct the notes the first time and then a push run on second run.
Embarrassing to watch this cruising. Kalle even saying he could have gone slower
Still better than ridiculous Hyundai twitter account…
About the red flag situation yesterday
Estonian commentator called different experts yesterday and the answer was from all that the red flag notice in the car is the A and O for the drivers, not the one that Marshall shows.
So that’s what made the confusion and there wasn’t any penalties.
And btw the Marshall didn’t show it for Loubet but did for Breen and Tänak
M-Sport guys need to attack on the next stage, this is their PR chance :)
where Kiri ?
Suggest that for the people who have rejoined under Super Rally they must finish each stage on the Sunday before the powerstage within 5% of the fastest time or they won't be eligible to score any powerstage points. That may stop the crap that Neuville and others are doing.
This situation is nothing new. Back in the day when events were much longer, drivers were just driving to get to the finish much more. The gaps were many minutes between cars are there were few 'battles' to the very end of rallies. Just accept it as part of the endurance element of the sport.
300km is no endurance.
Great drive and result for Chris Ingram in WRC2 / WRC2 Junior.
Well, much more mixed review IMO
Jan Solans was above him almost all the weekend and Huttunen was able to catch him in spite of two punctures and Fiesta Rally2. The two were much more interesting here according to me.
Not saying it’s a bad race from him but it’s quite logical with the beginning of his season: consistant yes, but clearly lacks a bit of speed against the best in class.
Fast (enough) and mature drive by Gryazin.
Weird weekend for Toksport/Skoda. Car was fast and won the category but mechanical problems too.
Lappi flying!
Neuville comes like through some pin-ball came
However long a rally is the last day will be one to consolidate...
Tanak: "Today the priority is to drive through and bring the car home."
Nice result by Breen and M-Sport. They both needed that.
Happy for Tanak. Very good!!
460 something days of agony over finally
Almost in tears, feels like a first win again, brilliant drive this week. Reminded Toyota days
Quite boring sunday... but... from estonian perspective, this time actually I don't complain about it :)
Great for Tänak & Hyundai! Enjoy the moment all the estonians.
Great rally from Tänak. He showed some masterclass here. Small minus that he wasn’t pushing in the power stage and lost points but on the other hand first win after Sweden 2021 and maybe he thinks WRC will be done already.
Breen was good. So was Sordo. Good pace during the rally but they drove slow Power Stage as always.
Loubet was surprisingly good. Interesting to see his performance in upcoming rallies.
Rovanperä looked like C class driver this weekend. Okay, starting position wasn’t good but he didn’t have pace here at all.
Greensmith and Katsuta performed as expected. Really slow. 😁
Neuville, Evans and Lappi drove too as expected. Quite fast but with many errors.
Formaux wants to drive WRC2 next year. Solid performance again to reach that target!
Finally the drought from 2021 has ended and Hyundai (& of course Tänak) are finally on that top step on the podium and making some headway in Toyota's lead, I really hope they can now start and develop (as much as possible) the car and get faster, in any case, they have now some basis to rely on. Still Rovanperä has a commanding lead but at least now 2 drivers are now on the hunt for him and his first spot. Clever rally by Rovanperä, never really felt comfortable with the car yet still managed to keep his nose clean, get 5th place and 4 points from the power stage so he actually extended his gap to Neuville to 55 points. I'm aware Neuville said he wasn't going to wait until everybody else falters, but in this case I think he was wrong, if he has any serious intentions about getting this year's championship, every point counts, and with Fourmaux's mistake yesterday he could’ve gotten 8 extra points from finishing 6th so at least he has a fighting chance when that car will be as reliable as that Toyota.
Good for Tanak, finally a win. But let's not forget he was extremely lucky for the 2 cancelled stages when he was having transmission troubles. If those stages weren't cancelled, we would be probably talking about once again how crap Hyundai's reliability is. But for once luck smiled to Tanak and he deserves it.
Rovanpera did what he had to do, with Finland and Estonia yet to come, he can cruise with no problems and extend his lead.
It makes me smile reading criticism of Neuville for not settling for yet another 5th-6th place or so, as if that would matter for the championship. Nobody driving a Hyundai can seriously challenge for the title this year. And probably not even Evans.
Impressed by Loubet in 4th.
