Anyone know why the Eurosport coverage was so on-board heavy this year? Didn't look like they had a helicopter up all weekend? Quite one-dimensional pictures I thought - I was quite disappointed.

Eurosport doesn't care about the ERC anymore, there only interest is to take the fee from the organizers and produce below par coverage.
Slightly half hearted coverage - who'd have thought it. Ypres and the ERC deserve much better.
Also the onboard footage was often shaky and the static cameras were placed in quite boring places (I watched only leg 2). It didn't impress me at all.
So, what is the point in having a series promoter if they don't want to do their job? Because as far as I'm concerned, that is what Eurosport, the promoter should be doing, not the event organiser.Quote:

The best thing about the ES coverage was at least the commentator shut up during the onboards. Much better to hear the cars. I quite liked the bumper-cam as well for the sense of speed.

He didn't start at the correct time (at 00 in a minute), usually some seconds earlier/later. Only people from timekeeping and people from Hyundai can tell. Anyway I have serious doubts about this car, nothing had to comply with any homologation, so they can use the car they want, in terms of pop-off, restrictor etc they can actually do whatever they want. They say it's an R5, but who will tell? Maybe the 208 T16 Meeke used in Ypres some years ago is faster than the homologated version now... ;) Anyway in terms of chassis/suspension it looks like a very stable car, good base.Quote:

Well if it was the WRC where they don't plan to sell their car, I would believe it but in customer segments I would be less inclined to belive it.
