I have never supported cancellation of stages in RMC, Argentina or anywhere if there was not a true valid reason (like flooded roads or something). In that regard I believe that it's better to let the decision up to responsible people who are personally there and not up to us whose only information are from forums or media. It's very easy to be an armchair general without knowing a complete picture.

Yes, it was but I don't think Per meant that case but talks of some members that driving on the slash was too dangerous. I think it really was somehow dangerous but mainly because in WRC there is the stupid rule of no cuts in tyres allowed not because of the stages themselves.
Once again portuguese friends, are there any archives on RTP.pt pages, when we can find reportages from Sata rally Acores , please ?

For me, Breen did a good job to be best of the rest here.
Kopecky is obviously more at home on tarmac but when he is on the boil he can be pretty decent on gravel too (in the past here he was not far behind Hanninen and Mikelssen) From the footage we saw he was driving nicely.
At the moment I would say that Breen is more of a 'Wilks' than a 'Meeke'. Good but he needs a bit more...

IMO Breen is already familiar with the 207 and at least as fast as Kopecky on gravel. Do not forget in the case of Acores there was crazy weather during the recce too - not only during the rally itself - it was incredible hard to make correct pacenotes for a 1sttimer like Breen. Kopecky did this rally four times in the IRC years and that's one of the reasons why he won it know. No offence to Kopko though, he and Pavel did an awesome job not only on this rally but also in this season. The wisest decision for them is to compete on Corsica and achive a podium finish and then they can comfortable sit back and choose the rallys for the second half of the season where they will compete.
If he can finish without problems I am expecting a Kubica win on Corsica, and Kopecky will also have Basso to contend with there.. But what I really like about Kopecky this year is that instead of "collecting points for the team" and "not wanting to do any stupid mistakes" he is really going for it.. like on the final stage of Janner or here where he won the event also by winning the final stage instead of playing it too safe. I did think a win was possible for him on Azores, but I was pleasantly surprised that he really earnt it instead of just lucking into it.Quote:

Kubica's turbo charged RRC will have great advantage on twisted, narrow Corsica stages. Kopecky and Basso can only sit and hope for his inconsistency. Pity that ERC is filled mainly by s2000 and not RRC cars - it would be much more interesting.Quote:

Yes, that's pure b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. Engine of Kopecký is mechanically same with other up to date Fabias. The difference is in mapping but that's more about the torque curve than maximum power (torque is more important on gravel anyway), even there the difference isn't big. Anyway my estimation is that Kopecký has some +- 290 Hp. I don't believe 300+ numbers. DS3 of Kubica must have around 270-280 Hp but much more torque which means that Fabia's only real advantage shall be around maximum speed (on the other hand it hits the rpm limiter sooner). Jänner was extremely slippery, Acores too and in such conditions torque means more than power. Acores and Canarias are very twisty which also prefers torque over maximum power.

That's the more strange that until few months a go Bryan spent years as Peugeot factory driver.
Of course it was SaintEloc. As I said earlier, suppose one less driver for Breen to try and beat. Unfortunate. And even if Peugeot Sport said no to Chetail (or whoever was in charge of SaintEloc) I presume Bouffier wasn't told. Sounds from the information so far available that it was nothing more than selfish behaviour from SaintEloc..
Hugo Magalhães has uploaded a full onboard of Coroa da Mata 2 (scratch with a time of 7:13.2). Sousa and him usually upload most of their onboards after each rally.
Regarding the presence of a former world champion, during the rally we learn from the mouth of the president of the organization that should have been Marcus Gronholm. The presence did not materialize due to the refusal of his woman. She did not give permission. :D
