We had more snow than that over here in the UK two weeks ago. Really hope it snows next week!
Some more pictures from Shakedown etc. here:

Little snow in in the early stages. On the Norwegian side of the border there is snow;-)
Have one of my best memories from Rally Sweden in the right-hander at the top of the hill.Quote:

So, after many years of dreaming, I finally have an opportunity to go to foreign WRC event. Okay, it's a neighboring country but still... :) Looking forward!
One question though, is there a FM rally radio frequency in Rally Sweden like in NORF?
Have a great time, we all have to start somewhere - my first foreign WRC event was Rally Ireland (and part of that was in the UK!)Quote:

I will be there on wednesday
Hope for the same weather conditions as in the vid below...

I might need to change my Pickem after viewing some pictures of the current stage condition :/
any feedback on ice condition / thickness?
I guess even if it snows before the rally, it won't have time to get compacted and improve the road condition...
There is still time to send water tankers through the stages I guess.
Looks better than it did in 2008 I think, the roads anyway not the scenery....
Here are some photos from 2008:

They try to organise the route so that most of the road sections is run on minor roads which often are more or less ice- or snowcovered. This is also a question of logistics and the concern of the rally not being hindered by heavy spectator traffic. For the long haul between Karlstad-Hagfors and return the teams fit studless or studded "normal" wintertyres on the cars. The 90 kms to and from Hagfors on dry tarmac would certainly ruin the competition tyres. Thats why each day starts with a 10 minute service in Hagfors before the go out to the first stage.Quote:

Vision of How will th rally Sweden unfold:
Without any champinship preasure Sebastien Loeb shows his true skill. Despite Hirvonen's faultless an fast drive his is not able to chalenge for win, wich wil be go to a winner of a king battle - Loeb vs Ogier. Loeb shows again who is te real King and wins the rally with only few seconds over Ogier. Not being able to keep up with french Superdrivers Hirvonen is comfortably faster than the rest and comes home in third position. Fast latvala boy shows good speed in a couple of stages, bet is still not comfortable in a new Polo and is a little too cautios because of Monte crash - He does not want to be a crashvala any more. Further down the field every thing takes hes own place according to true pace. Sordo comes fifth an with no any advanegous conditions and with no top driver crashing out Ostberg manages only six just because everone else in front of him is simply faster. Fast Neuville goes through a couple of small mistakes thoughout the rally, but is able to continue driving resulting in his first points in 2013 for a 7th place in Sweden. Juho Hanninen does the same - shows incredible speed in some stages but after one or two small chashes is able to come to finish in 8th. H. Solberg wants to show his speed, but is too optimistic and crash out in first day. Novikov repeats his mistakes - Drives carefully at first, bet seeing that he is able to go up the leaderbord crashes out.
Really hoping for a lot of snow this week!
My first visit over to Rally Sweden and it would be awesome for it to be a proper snow rally.
Tidemand is testing today in Antilla (Värmland).
Colin Clark posted a few pics on his twitter from the test stages some 50km north Torsby,
A link to show how far 50km is from Torsby/Hagfors (B is NOT the testing location).Quote:

That looks pretty hopeful.
Fingers crossed for more snow slightly further South.
You`ve got a vivid phantasy! Especially the bit about Østberg, with five guys simply being faster than him...Forgotten he finished 2nd and 3rd in the two last editions of Sweden? Haven`t seen his testing videos? Haven`t noticed his progress the last year? Still five guys will be faster than him, on snow and ice??? It will give you great odds, mate, but I`m convinced you won`t win any money on it!Quote:

I need your help :
Is somebody can locate fast jumps into SS Fredriksberg ?
Thank's ;)
Ben:
Right in the middle of the stage... In map you will see a mark that shows "parking" before the last public area before the finish of the stage... Really nice!
You will park on a access road that will come out on the stage after the straigth with the jumps in a fast left/right corner who goes up over a long crest! Go right when you come out on the stage!!
You will need to walk for a few hundred meters and you can choose one of the jumps! ;) I will absolutly be there, like in finland! :P
Could you supply a google maps link to this spot please, it is our first time coming over to Rally Sweden and any advice or tips on where is best to go is much appreciated.Quote:
