What about your friend? Does he know more about Ford + Petter = why not?Quote:

A C4 deal has been rumoured in the press, but he knows nothing about that. He did say this morning, however, that he personally hasn't had any more contact with Petter or any of his representatives. This could have been a good sign as it was all done, but it looks like it may be a delay or another offer?
I know no more...
I trust more your friend than those rumours in this case. Ford just sounds more realistical than C4. Marcus' didin't want to compete against Loeb (altough he was apprently very near to do), Loeb didin't want to think about Subaru few yeras ago and so on. I just don't believe that Petter is so optimistic that he could parallel or beat Seb from little weaker position. Instead I believe that in Ford Petter can beat official drivers even from marginally weaker position.Quote:

I would go for a 07 C4, if he could get that. Mikkelsens has experience with both Focus and C4, and the winner was clear in his mind. But they all drive differently, so hard to tell. But Petter have probably never driven either Focus or C4, so hard to know.
If Petter need to have a top car to fight for victory, he is propably to late for that for 09, so he has in my view two options;
1. Get a year-old car and do your best, and try to get upgrades as you go along.
2. Buy a S2000 and drive in IRC, Be able to fight for victory and have fun for a year !
Petter just said to Norwegian radio that 2010 is no problem and that he has gotten a lot of good offers for 2010.
Does he have other options, beside a sabbatical ?
As I know, 'Citroen Junior Team' will have C4 WRC`s in specification 'Monte 2008'. But during 2009 all cars will have upgrade.

I think that is what he is afraid of.
it counts every year offcourse.Quote:

And Ford are not overbooked? - remember officially Atkinson is only guaranteed a C4 for Rally Ireland.
I'm sure he will be happy as long as the car has a lot of switches and buttons to change set-ups continuously during the stage... :dozey:Quote:

The organizers of the Rally Norway must have concrete car
Petter Solberg has signed up for the Rally Norway 12 to 15 February, but organizers require that the driver has a car ready within kl.1500 today.
The organizers of the Rally Norway have clear requirements for people who want to run the World Cup round.
- Before we can approve a registration, each driver to submit to a particular car. It's impossible to join, and later tell the class and car to run, "explains race leader Stig Rune Kjernsli.
He said that it is to make changes later, if the subscription is approved.
- All drivers can switch cars in the class they are registered. It means that you are registered for the WRC class, you must run there. Moreover, one of the people in the car replaced, "he continues.
The organizers think the course is nice about Petter Solberg will start.
- We know that Petter Solberg is a public frier and that we get some additional audiences. But for us it is smooth start field that matters most. It applies also to the public. But we wish him welcome, and it will be positive for all parties, "said Kjernsli.
He can enter with his s9 I believe and change laterQuote:

Looks like a stupid article. If you can change car within the class, then of course you don't need to decide car. Just namedrop one. Has been done before, for example in Sweden, by Carlsson :) More in my blog, but I don't dare to post the link :D :D :D
Has Petter now missed the boat for Norway?
No, he has entered the rally and he has got permission by FIA to name his car later - and anyway he could have named any car and changed it later within his class.Quote:

citroen c4? sordo out as M1?
I don`t think so. Of course it`s gonna be great to see Petter in Citroen but not as a replacement for Sordo. IMHO it`s a stupid thing.Quote:

why not? petter is a better driver than sordo on snow and gravel, and they are quite equal on tarmac. sordo NEVER going to be a world champ.Quote:
