Thinking back (hindsight being 20/20) - losing Tim Richmond to NASCAR was the first sign that NASCAR was gaining momentum at the expense of the openwheelers.....

FWIW My first thought was Dan Gurney when I saw the thumbnail, but when I enlarged it, it was obviously not Dan Gurney.

It's strange that Gurney qualified the number 74 for that race. I guess the best way to find out is to ask Dan why.
